Sanashi is an S-rank missing nin from Yukigakure, and one of the 7 members of the Yugure, the leaders of the rogue organization Katakiuchi.Description of the character's personality: Sanashi is outgoing and boisterous, infecting those around him with his light-heartedness. He is a capable medical-nin, strong in will and smart in medicine, but weak in physical confrontation. He prefers stealth and illusions, using tactics and ambushes to assault his enemies. He has many weaknesses, however, and prefers to stay passive in all forms of conflict. If a fight does break out, he will never take an enemy head on, instead relying on his comrades while he stays back, formulating plans and manipulating enemies with Genjutsu. Despite his overall quirkiness and jovial mannerisms, he has his dark side. His past has infected him, clouding his mind with thoughts of greed and retribution.
Description of the character's history:I REALLY HAVE TO APOLOGIZE I WROTE BASICALLY A BIOGRAPHY OF HIS LIFE IT IS REALLY LONG, FEEL FREE TO NOT READ IT. LIKE, EVER.Sanashi was born to a prominent clan in the Hidden Snow village as the eldest son, raised in a rich, quaint environment. Time flew quickly, and he was old enough to be enrolled into the Ninja Academy. He spent most of his time in class goofing off, not paying attention, becoming the class clown. Because of this, he was a less-than-average young shinobi. His younger brother surpassed him quickly, impressing their parents with extremely developed and exceptional skills. Sanashi was quickly forgotten, being treated as if invisible, tormented by his lack of skills.
After years and years hiding in humiliation, struggling to escape the grasp of his brother’s shadow, he did. His brother was on an S-class mission, far away in a distant land, when
it happened. His brother came home limping on one leg, severely injured. His entire squad was dead, and he had barely managed to escape. He was immediately escorted to the Shimokaze district of the village, where even the best healers could not save him. He died deep into the night on his bed, peacefully smiling as he stared into the next life.
This incredible loss grappled Sanashi by his throat and threw him as hard as it could into madness. He slowly became more and more obsessed with studying medical jutsu, hoping to prevent any more of his family members from dying. He studiously read every book of human anatomy in the library, every scroll of medical tips and tricks. His father, leader of the clan, taught Sanashi everything he knew, still burdened by the loss of his great son.
No matter what Sanashi did, it didn’t seem to work. His mother slowly fell into a deep illness, no medical jutsu aiding her condition. After her passing, Sanashi’s father couldn’t take any more. He fell into a deep depression, committing suicide only hours after her death. Sanashi was suddenly thrust upon him the responsibilities of running the clan, feeling unimaginable weight and stress on his shoulders only days after the death of his parents.
Sanashi held out for as long as he could, finding a balance between himself and the running of the clan. Many tried to reach out, but he shut himself away from all of them. All he cared about was his power and control over the clan. Then one day, he discovered something that would change him forever.
Sanashi cautiously stepped into the room he and his brother used to share, all those years ago. The bed in which his brother had died was still kept in perfect condition, although Sanashi himself never worked up enough courage to see it before this day. On the ground next to the bed lay a singular object, too small to make out from the doorway. Sanashi took a few steps towards it, finally arriving and kneeling before it. It was a small wooden toy, a little horse. Sanashi hugged the horse close to his chest and began to cry, remembering all the times they shared together. These sweet memories were swiftly replaced with waves of rage and anger, however.
Why did he have to die?! Why! Why did they all leave me here alone?! Sanashi thought to himself, overcome with anger.
He yelled a ferocious cry as he slammed the horse into the ground, shattering it completely. Sanashi stood, wiping his eyes and preparing to turn and leave. However, as he glanced at the wreckage, he noticed something. A small, rolled-up slip of paper lay, the white contrasting greatly against the brown of the wooden floor. Sanashi picked it up and read it, tears filling his eyes once more. His brother had left him a present...
Sanashi spent his next few months studying his brother's research notes, expanding in directions he would've never dared to go. He began his research on reanimation. He neglected the duties of clan leader, instead leaving them to plummet into chaos without a proper head.
After countless months of research, he decided there wasn't enough he could do from home. He left the village in the dead of the night without a word to anyone, leaving his clan to fend for themselves. He decided that if he wanted to be accepted quickly outside the walls of the village, he must turn his grim personality around. He started putting on a mask of happiness and joy as he traveled throughout the nation, searching for any possible wells of knowledge. Eventually, this mask began to become him, opening him up to the world and bringing life back into him, rejuvenating his younger, class-clown self.
Only a couple weeks after Sanashi's awakening, he was discovered by an individual who called himself "Pride." He said he was traveling throughout the land in search of capable people who shared his ideals. After a long chat that went deep into the hours of the night, Pride stated he would allow Sanashi to join him in leading an organization that would overthrow the corrupt government system, if he did one task. Sanashi figured this organization be a great opportunity to gather information for his research...
Pride and Sanashi leapt through the snow-capped trees, not making a single sound. They simultaneously paused at the edge of the forest, glaring upon the Yukigakure's beauty. There was no time for such nonsense, however. They quickly hopped into the snow, sneakily edging their way around the large wall. They jumped over it with little effort, and continued their stealthy journey, cautiously trekking through the darkest of alleyways. Eventually, they came upon the Shimokaze estate. Its golden rims shown through the snowy dusk as they pressed up against it, ready for infiltration. They leapt through the nearest window, hearing the slight sound of ripping fabric. No one seemed to notice, however. Sanashi bounded through the manor with a familiar stride, Pride following closely. Sanashi finally found the right door, and nudged it open, hearing only but a creak. A small child slept with unrest, shifting and flipping while sweating profusely.
"This is him; this is the successor," Sanashi whispered as quietly as he could as he turned towards Pride. Pride simply nodded in the direction of the child, urging Sanashi forward.
Sanashi stepped ever closer, raising a kunai knife far above his head. He stared at the small child with apologetic eyes, and his arm fell.
Ever since that day, Sanashi has been known as "Greed" of the Yugure council, and an S-Class missing-nin, wanted for betrayal of his village and clan. He feels no guilt, however. It had to be done, for the sake of his research. He has to know everything the world can offer, so he can finally bring his family back together...
