Description of the character's personality:Hanzo is a caring brother of Konishi, his younger sibling . After his mother's death, his only goal is to keep his brother safe from harm. As a motivated, intelligent and tough shinobi, Hanzo now lives as a paid assassin, working alongside his younger brother hunting down people for money. Hanzo is
neutral at heart, meaning he does what he feels is required to keep his and his brother's name alive. A skilled swordsman, (as expected from a descendant of Shizue clan), with huge talent for Ninjutsu, which he praises to Kazutoshi - his foster father - who educated him in chakra and jutsu ways. Humble in speech but deadly in combat, a beaming soul with a dark silhouette - that is the only way to describe Hanzo Shizue.
The Shizue History:The Shizue blacksmith's family was notoriously known for their sword handling talents and incredible weapon crafting for the Village Hidden by Ash. When the Hidden Ash was at war, it accused the Shizue clan of treason. The Hidden Ash believed that the Shizue was crafting weapons for their enemies, in order to take over the village. Under the command of the Kage of the Hidden Ash, the family was to be wiped out as a punishment. Kamenashi Shizue, the clan's leader, secretly sent his son Hanzo and his pregnant wife Esumi into hiding from the Hidden Ash. The Shizue clan fought for their loved ones, but the Hidden Ash outnumbered them and not one member of the clan was spared.
The Story of Hanzo:Esumi took Hanzo and her newborn Konishi into hiding outside of the Village where they lived away from people. There she met Kazutoshi, an elderly Shinobi outlaw. Esumi knew that someday she would be found and killed, therefore she pleaded Kazutoshi to train her sons, so that they can survive on their own, and maybe someday rebuild their clan that was so unfairly punished. Kazutoshi agreed to this under one condition - her sons were to become his travel companions. Hanzo, a 7 year old, and Konishi, a 5 year old, set out with Kazutoshi and began their training as Ninja outlaws.
Hanzo was a skilled swordsman from an early age. Under Kazutoshi's guidance, he mastered the blade and the techniques of Kenjutsu. Upon realising his chakra nature, Hanzo was taught how to control his chakra to perform jutsus and make him a bigger threat. His speed and accuracy impressed Kazutoshi and sooner Hanzo grew out to be one of the most agile he has ever seen.
After years of training and travelling, Kazutoshi announced that in order to advance as Shinobi, they would have to set out on a mission with him. Hanzo and his brother, who were both ready to take on a first real assignment, set off to their homeland of Hidden Ash. The mission was to split up and scout an abandoned headquarters in search of scrolls. Upon arrival, the place gave the two brothers a nostalgic feeling, as Henzo slowly realized that they were in fact in their old home - the Shizue Clan. They continued searching for the scrolls, but had an ominous feeling about the place. "It doesn't feel right.., we shouldn't be here". They searched for Kazutoshi to demand answers. They found him in an old derelict house. As they entered, they witnessed Kazutoshi's blade pierced through an elderly woman. She placed her hands on the sword as she fell to her knees and catched her last breaths. The brothers stared at her and saw the same eyes they missed for all these years. Their mother had died from the hands of their foster father. He turned around and gasped "Hanzo, Konishi", but before he could finish his sentence, Hanzo's sword was deeply buried within his heart. "Kazutoshi.. Why?" asked Konishi, as his body slid down from the blade and fell to the ground in silence.
All they found were two scrolls near Kazutoshi's body. The first, a payment agreement for killing the last member of the Shizue Clan signed X. "He was a hitman", said Konishi. "He was paid to kill our mother.." Hanzo began reading the second scroll. "Konishi, you need to see this". The second scroll was an outlined description of the clan's most lethal weapons created by their father, Kamenashi. Hanzo and Konishi were the last unknown members of the Shizue, and the family's most valuable piece of craft was now in their hands. They felt intense hatred towards Kazutoshi, but they soon realised that this was what he trained them for. He wanted Hanzo and Konishi to be
like him, he wanted them to grow
powerful in order to
protect eachother and
survive. Together they were to become
hired hitmen. Not to fight for the good or the evil and not to gain notoriety, but to save the clan's name in a way that Kazutoshi envisioned it - as the last two living Shizue Shinobi - for the price of killing their mother and retrieving the secret scrolls.
Hanzo doesn't bond with anyone or anything, but this is only to eliminate the possibility of losing something he might care for, that is why he only needs his brother. Together they can protect and provide income for themselves.
They don't kill without a purpose. With his brother they refuse jobs which have no real importance to anyone. To them life is precious, and they won't take lives of innocent people for money, however..
They take revenge for money, to not allow themselves become the evil they have fought and avenge their fallen clan.
Killing is a distraction of their subconscious pain
