“Welcome to the Katakiuchi hideout, this is one of our many bases located around the world, I brought the generals with me too so we can go over a few things” explained Kazuki as he turned around and looked at the darkened figures, it was as-if he was displaying them.
Nibui took a glance at the stationary shinobi in the shadows but his attention was quickly relocated back to Kazuki. The leader of the organisation threw around some hand seals and pressed his hand against the boulder which caused it to slide backwards, exposing a gap in the ground with a stairway leading deep into a tunnel underground.
The wind tightened and began rushing through the forest as the moon illuminated the trees.
“Well, let’s get going” suggested Kazuki with a smile on his face. His face was gleaming from the candles that were almost blown out.
What a strange hideout, the mystery ninja also look intimidating – there’s a lot of them. Especially that one with the colossal blade Nibui warned himself.
He took another glance at the endless hole.
I can take care of things if anything goes out of hand. Nibui assured himself as his right hand touched the leather ninja tool pack he was given for graduating Chunin rank and becoming a Jōnin.
I might have to use theseNibui was escorted inside by Kazuki and his men. The sound of metal scraping against the steps was echoing through the tunnel as one of the generals made his way through with an extensive blade that was too big to be carried on back.
The walls on the inside were made of large stones, there was no paint and rubble was dropping. The corners were inhabited by spider-webs and eight-legged crawlies. You would catch the occasional torch on a stand nailed to the wall here and there, but other than that there was no lighting in the tunnel. Other than the crunching of boots and the sizzling of the torches, silence was apparent.
After a couple minutes of walking, the shinobi came to a haul before a large wooden double-door. It didn’t look like anything special, other than the fact there was a single seal in between the doors prohibiting access.
“We have arrived” Kazuki announced as he shifted to one side pulling Nibui with him.
“The door is sealed” Nibui pointed out.
“It’s fine, it’s an old seal that has expired by now” explained Kazuki
“Here, let the guy’s open it” he continued.
Three of the unknown ninja stepped forward into the light and lined up next to each other – shoulder-to-shoulder. They were all wearing black clothing with various symbols on them, and hoodies too, most likely to protect their identity.
Is that… Kuro? He seems to be wielding the sword exactly like Kuro used to when we still kept in-touch. Their stances are also the same. Nibui questioned the appearance of the tall ninja with the large sword, but his focus was disrupted when a loud crash filled the muffled channel.
The three shinobi kicked down the door, splints of wood flew backwards and the ninja walked in carelessly. There was now a gaping hole at the edge of what appears to be the heart of literature and documentation.
Interesting… Nibui was intrigued by the appearance of the interior.
There were lit torches hanging in a square formation around the circle-shaped room. Dust was plummeting around in all directions – it was an ancient hideout. Books and scrolls were visible wherever you looked, and in the centre of the room was a large circular wooden table with 8 chairs around it, enough to have an equal distance between each other and still completely surround the table.
“Amazing” Nibui admitted with awe as he followed the group inside and began twisting his head around examining the items.
Kazuki and his men stood around the table and decided on sitting down with a simultaneous nod.
There was one seat left vacant, and Kazuki was quick to invite the visitor to it.
“Take a seat” demanded Kazuki as his and Nibui’s eyes met.
The other men still had their hoods on and looked down onto the table, they were rather mysterious and chose to keep their identities hidden until Nibui fully joined them – it was for their own protection.
Nibui sat down and began studying the members around him, the swordsman was at the direct opposite end of himself.
The silence was once again interrupted unexpectedly.
“Katakiuchi is a flexible organisation that spans across the entire world, our mission is to carefully take down the kage from each land and create a world based on our own vision” announced Kazuki in an informative way.
Nibui watched and listened with interest.
This is my chance to get revenge on those who used me as a weapon. This world will know pain I have nothing to lose, my mother was used as sacrifice and my father wants to kill me - I will get him“I have seen you around and was fascinated by your ability to kill without the blink of an eye, and that’s exactly what we’re looking for. In order to reach our goal, we must eradicate anything that prevents us from doing so. This organisation has 7 council members which are marked with their respectful symbol using hot iron. We call ourselves the Yugure-seven, or simply ‘the council members’.”
“Our positions are based upon the seven sins – sloth, envy, wrath, pride, greed, lust and our vacant position of gluttony. They by no means reflect the beholder of the mark, but are used for identification. Our goal is pretty straightforward, if you’re interested in joining, please sign this contract scroll with blood” he explained as he pulled out a ragged scroll from his back-pocket and unveiled it before Nibui.
Every Yugure member stood up and paid close attention to the visitor.
Nibui stared at the contract ready to sign it off.
Katakiuchi contract of Yugure membership.
The contracted user of this position will abide by Katakiuchi rules and regulations, and always assist members when needed.
Those who betray the organisation will be immediately blacklisted and hunted by the Yugure – death on sight.
Position: Gluttony
Signature:
"I agree with your idea for Katakiuchi, and hereby accept your contract” Nibui exclaimed as his teeth ripped through the skin of his right thumb, swiping it across the signature field.
“Very well” Kazuki accepted and rolled the scroll up, tying it with a thin rope and shoving it back in his cloak.
“Yugure, please welcome Nibui Akagi, our new Gluttony!” declared Kazuki as he erupted from his seat with hands spread wide and embedded a grin on his face.
All of the hidden members pulled down their hoods and welcome Nibui in unison.
“Welcome” they finally spoke.
The Yugure members all had ash-white hair and wore the same black cloaks. Most of them were tall but their skins varied in tone. Two out of five of the Yugure were dark skinned and had short spiky, white hair. The others had shoulder length white hair with their ninja emblems hidden by the fringe, and the Yugure with the biggest sword who was consistently staring at Nibui was someone he already knew.
Kuro!
