Shocked by what they had discovered, the Shinobi that found the corpse of Hayame decided to have a gathering with all who remained upon the festival.
On this meeting, the discovery was announced, along with the fact that he was a Medic. It would appear that Hayame had protected Hikaru the other night, as he was carrying medical supplies of which some were used.
Hikaru’s face immediately showed some form of regret, as if he wished they could switch places.
Kazuki wiped away his tears in order to show no emotion over a fallen Shinobi from Roguhanta.
Vizier slammed his fist upon the table in utter distraught. Filled with rage, he decided to leave the tent in which the meeting was held for a bit to cool of his head.
The rest discussed the matter further. Soon it came to pointing fingers and while accusations were flying back and forth, it didn’t take long for it to come to a stop.
It would seem Isei’s laidback and careless attitude backfired for him, as the rest of the Shinobis unanimously decided that Isei should die today.
“No wait, what did I do wrong?!”, Isei replied hastily in response to the accusations, “I did nothing!”
An angry mob of shinobi surrounded Isei. He was in a bad spot and he knew it.
“We’ll see about that.”, Star Shizen replied as he slowly approached Isei. “This is for Kaeiro.”, he continued, whispering in his ear as he shoved a Kunai in his lower abdomen.
Isei felt a sharp pain near his kidney and looked - only to see blood dripping from the hole made by the kunai that Star Shizen held.
He then gave the kunai to another Shinobi, Toichi Tsukegami.
“For Kuria…!”, he said and quickly wiped the tears from his eyes, then he stuck the blade in Isei’s knee and passed the blade to Kazuki. Isei was struggling at this moment, completely in agony.
“And for Toratsume.”, Kazuki said calmly, plunging the blade in Isei’s chest, puncturing one of the lungs. He then gave the Kunai to Hikaru. Isei was coughing up blood at this point, having a very hard time to breath.
“For Sanji!”, Hikaru said to Isei, plunging the blade in Isei’s other knee, causing him to fall to the ground on his knees. Hikaru then passed the blade to Tsuna.
“This is for attacking Hikaru!”, he replied, sticking the kunai in Isei’s arm and removing it quickly, then giving the blade to Vizier.
“I… Regret… Nothing!”, Isei said with what would most certainly be his final breath. His eyes were bloodshot and a fierce grin appeared on his face as he chuckled.
“And this one, is for Hayame!”, Vizier replied furiously as he slit Isei’s throat clean open, spilling out the remaining amount of blood from Isei’s body.
As the lifeless corpse of Isei fell to the ground, Kazuki and Hikaru quickly investigated his corpse, looking for any clues about his role in the matter of the killings. They quickly found a bloodstained scroll containing medical jutsus and a bloodied knife – it was indeed Nas that had killed Hayame the other night.
“… Is it over? Did we get all of the assailants?”, Hikaru replied, looking at everyone. His instincts of people never lied to him before, and it would seem that out of all the people that were present around him, none of them had killed someone at the festival. He nodded at Hisaki. “It’s over… The assailants are gone.”
Hisaki nodded. “I’ll notify the kages at once.”
“W-What do we do now?!”, Tsuna asked, “W-W-What about everything that happened?!”
“We’ll honor the dead in the best way we can.”, Hisaki replied. He reached for the nearest bar and opened up a bottle of the finest sake.
“By having one final feast.”, he continued as he started to pour in shots and ordered some of the remaining cooks to start roasting the meat.
Faces of confusion and disgust were seen on some faces, but the need for alcohol was somewhat high considering the tense few days most of them had.
The cook’s started to roast the meat, cook the vegetables and preparing the sauce – all with what little they had left. An assemblage of spices and smells could be smelled from far away, making the stomachs of many shinobis grumble.
Gathering around the table, everyone waited patiently as the meat was carved. Perfectly rare made beef was shown, as the juices of the beef slowly slipped with the passing of the blade’s sweep.
It was enough to make even Hishiro drool a bit.
As soon as the alcohol took the edge off of all the Shinobi and filling their empty stomach with glorious prepared meals, it didn’t take long before the sounds of laughter and conversations filled the air.
It almost seemed as if the joyous spirit that had once left the Fantasia Festival so quickly now had returned. Just for this one… Last… Night.
Thus ended this tale of the tenth Secret Assassin Game – Fantasia Festival
It's been fun guys! The stories by both DarthTyrael and SpeakingRain have been absolutely amazing, I'm so grateful to both of them
I'm working on a compilation of all the chapters, possibly with some additive chapters and more explanation, to be released as a standalone story, but that's a while off.
I'm glad you guys had so much fun, I'll most likely run another one in a month or so if people are still interested in playing.
Nova made these absolutely amazing signature badges for everyone, so props to him
I'm sure you'll love them! I'll distribute them when I'm back from holiday in about 3 days.
