Description of the character's personality: Quiet, with an extreme dislike of criminals. Enjoys ramen, and claims to prefer solitude, but still
enjoys it when friends manage to draw him from his shell. Has a habit of lapsing into silence and taking
french leave when disinterested with what's happening.
Although criminals remind him of his failed mission,
he does not hate those who were forced to survive that way.
Description of the character's history:Many years before the current Kazan-kage rose to power, a child was born in the Land of the Hidden Volcano.
Born in a small village, outside the main one, this baby was named "Jubokko".
Growing up, he heard of the great shinobi war happening in the outside world.
One day, a shinobi from the Hidden Volcano was passing through on his way to return home, and stopped for lunch.
The boy went to the ramen shop. Peeking inside, he saw the shinobi sitting at the counter with a bowl of ramen.
The shinobi raised the chopsticks to his mouth, and heard a small voice say "Are you a ninja?".
Looking down, the shinobi saw the small boy standing by his leg. Hopping up on a stool next to the man,
the boy repeated his query. "Are you really a ninja?".
Smiling, the man affirmed his suspicion with a nod. "Can you show me some jutsu?".
Chuckling, the man lowered his chopsticks to the bowl, and raised his hands.
He then formed several odd shapes with his hands and pretended to blow with his mouth- from which a tiny flame momentarily billowed. Amazed, the boy nearly fell off his stool. Taking hold of his chopsticks, the man was just about to resume eating when he noticed the boy. He was attempting to mimic what the man had done, but slightly improperly.
The man set down the sticks again, and turned to show the boy what he was doing wrong.
He didn't think the boy would manage it, but as he eyed him, the boy formed the signs,
blew hard- and a tiny flame appeared. Impressed, the shinobi asked the boy for his name.
After talking with the boy's parents, it was agreed that the man would take the boy to the hidden volcano to be trained as a ninja. There, he trained under his master, the shinobi who had originally found him, Saikuro Aikohono.. One day, he and his mentor went to a village where a serial killer was rumored to be on the loose, with orders to take him alive.
One night, the youth heard a scream, when he arrived at the source, the criminal was holding a young woman hostage.
The young man moved to save her, but the criminal killed her before he could come closer. Then, Saikuro arrived and killed the man. After the failed mission, Jubokko was depressed, and spent much time indoors studying. He couldn't get what had happened out of his head. Eventually, Saikuro came and spoke with him, about the nature of morality. It was what he needed. He began training again. But he always lapsed into deep thought when left alone, a brown study of human nature.
Eventually, he made chunin, and then jonin. And one day, he began training with the aim of joining the village's elite.
That night, as the man lay in his bed, he had a dream.
He dreamed of facing an oni in a sea of blue flame, in the midst of a blue hell.
All around him, the azure flames roiled and flickered. The eternal blue darkness above was like the bottom of the ocean.
In the midst of it all, the oni stood. A gigantic blue-skinned figure, with snow-white hair, its red eyes glared at the young man.
He opened his mouth to speak, but no words issued from his throat- his mouth was completely parched from the intense heat.
Sweat ran down his face, but he could not move- the flames held him in place as surely as mud.
He was paralyzed, incapable of moving as his entire body felt burning pain.
The oni slowly began walking towards him. Adrenaline flooded the young man, but he was incapable of stopping
what was about to happen. The oni stood mere inches from him. Looking down at him, it raised its hand, and grasped his throat.
Choking, he could only watch as it raised its other hand, palm aimed towards his chest, and slammed it into his heart.
Burning pain engulfed him, and the blue flames devoured his vision. The burning pain covering him left his extremities and leapt to his heart, where it all converged. He couldn't breath, he was dying-Eyes flashing open, the young man awoke, for a moment unable to move or breath. Then he thrashed and gasped for breath, the sight of blue flames still flashing before his eyes. After a few moments, he slowly began to calm. Remembering the awful pain,
he rose and made his way to the bathroom, where, turning on the light, he looked into the mirror and saw- nothing.
Had it all been merely a bad dream? He began to climb back into bed, but reconsidered. He did not want any more sleep tonight.
Since that night, Jubokko noticed something odd: He could change the colour of any flames issuing from his
ninjutsu to blue. An uncomfortable reminder of the dream...
Eventually, Jubokko learned his first summoning jutsu. Seeing the summoning scroll layed out before him,
full of potential summoning contracts, Jubokko chose his familiar. He bit his thumb, signed the chosen
contract in blood, and...
A small pile of worms appeared.
Go figure.
[Combat Skills]
Jubokko's skill with swords, axes, and other melee weaponry is basic, as he prefers to use taijutsu
in most confrontations. However, he is a skilled marksman with shuriken and kunai.
He carries a pair of bolas for when capture is necessary.
When death is required, Jubokko pulls out this monster:
The dragon beard hook, a steel two-pronged, serrated hook attached to a 10-metre rope,
it can be swung at an opponent with deadly effect, as the hooks, once entangled in flesh, tear through
skin, muscle, and bone with ease. The hook is usually only reserved for battles to the death.
