Armor and/or weapon durability
« on: April 22, 2014, 14:31:46 »
The reason i am suggesting this, is so that even people with the best armor wont be too overpowered.
Ill explain it:
Lets say some random armor has got 200 defense points, its durability will also be 200. If players start w/ e.g 1000 HP and get hit by a jutsu that does 400 damage, they only get 200 damage and e.g 1 durability point will be destroyed. that means that if the weakest armor has 45 durability, if that random armor gets hit so much that its durability has been reduced to 45, its just as good as the weakest one. And u must be able to repair ur armor when needed, e.g make an npc forge or blacksmith where u can get ur armor repaired. That way it isnt all about equipment but also about strategics and money.

I think it would be bests if all the armour-specs would be enchant based. like there should be something like ... ..someone with an enchanting justu specialty. who has done quests which lead him to gain certain justu/spells for stronger enchantments. note that one can enchant, hands, head, feet, chest ect...ect. i  don't necessarily think one should have armour which changes, made out of iron..plate, ......ok ok...maybe i am just being crazy but i don't think it would be cool for a highly ranked  to have heavy looking armour going round about. that's why i think armour should be enchanting based. maybe a certain clothing can be done to symbolise difference between junin, genin ect, according to the ranks, all with their set of clothing power or stats, to boost the player's skills. and maybe if fetching this one too far, but i also think with enchantment based armouring,  one can could gain a certain tattoo as a mark of the enchantment. now that would be cool.

Shinobi Life Online will aim for a realistic experience so I definitely hope there won't be any bonuses on armors/weapons, nor will there be gem slots and stuff like this. I think an armor is just for protection, so it'd make no sense to have an armor give you bonus HP for instance. That'd take out a lot of the realism of the game...

It's obvious that certain armor will protect better than others, but you won't see something that looks identical and provides 20x more protection. As marius said, we're going to keep it realistic.

maybe make it of other materials, so every material grants u a certain amount of defense.

Guys, Dev guys in this case. I figure if there game develops and grows. There are probably going to be expansions. My questions how is the gear gona change? Are you going to introduce a new set for Gunin, Junin ect with every release? And what will be the diffrence with the..gear if i cn say, what will be the diffrence from the previous ones? And how would one get the new gear? Would a player, like a jounin, automatically be given the gear? Or would he have to do missions or arenas and get some kind of point to buy it?

You're looking into the far far future. i think it's better to go step by step. We already have a lot figure out of what we're going to do, and your question isn't that important that we have previously discussed it. We will discuss it when the time comes.
