Gil Farming in FFXIV

Gil is essential for upgrading weapons, customising characters and procuring mounts in Final Fantasy XIV. There are various methods you can use to acquire it - hunting boards/daily roulettes/dungeon completion/PvP completion among them - all of which provide ways to farm this currency.

Crafting and gathering are also effective means of earning Gil. While these methods may require time-intensive activity, they usually result in the greatest returns.

Crafting

Crafting and gathering in Final Fantasy XIV are an excellent way to accumulate Gil, as this activity yields lucrative rewards such as high-demand items for endgame gear and raids that can then be sold on the market at a profit. However, players should keep in mind that time spent gathering materials may actually cost them in terms of opportunity cost.

Combat players can also earn gil by killing monsters and completing quests, which they can then use to purchase weapons and armor. Furthermore, treasure map parties offer another method for increasing earnings; especially useful at the beginning of each new patch when enemies drop valuable loot!

Gathering

One of the best ways to earn Gil in f14 gil is through gathering, which involves collecting items and selling them on the Market Board to other players. Gathering is especially helpful for newer players since it doesn't require an initial investment of melded gear - yet can be an ongoing source of Gil.

Complete levequests and treasure maps in FFXIV to increase gil earnings; these can offer valuable rewards such as high-demand equipment or reagents. However, please keep in mind that every server and DC is different - what works on one may not necessarily work on others.

Time is money; gathering base materials takes away from more productive uses such as levequest completion, undercutting on the market board or raiding. Therefore, optimizing use of retainers and understanding other players' habits - for instance putting an item up on the market board during times when most competitors are sleeping will increase its chance of sale faster.

PvP

PvP content offers many opportunities for earning Gil, but the results can often be unpredictable. Enemies often drop spell tomes that sell for thousands of Gil each; these spell books can be an important source of revenue. One great place for this kind of activity to happen outside towns after Cyclone where large Sorcerer enemies can be encountered and defeated.

Combat players also have multiple avenues available to them to earn Gil, including selling runs and running side content such as Eureka and FATEs. Cat-ear hoods provide another method for high-level characters to quickly amass significant sums of Gil; by converting their LP gain into real cash.

Traders and crafters can earn plenty of gil through trading Cracked Crystals, Clusters and Mhachi Matter to other players through the market board or FC box. Another great way of earning Gil is through treasure map parties which can prove immensely profitable if handled correctly.

Trading

There are various activities within Final Fantasy 14 that can yield significant amounts of Gil. These activities include trading items on the Market Board, completing Tradecraft levequests and hunting for treasure maps - however some of these methods violate Square Enix's Terms of Service, thus hindering their effectiveness and possibly leading to punishment from them.

Crafting and Gathering require an investment in time and commitment; trading offers faster profits without as much commitment or investment. However, players should remember that trading isn't sustainable so diversifying income sources is advised.

One way of increasing your income in Final Fantasy 14 is through undercutting other players on the Market Board, an often contentious but potentially lucrative tactic if managed well - especially around major patch releases when done successfully. But please be warned, this method may not suit everyone and should only be attempted if considered suitable by yourself and only as part of a comprehensive strategy plan.
