Shinobi Life Online Discussion / Re: Rogue Ninja Debate
« on: December 06, 2014, 21:54:26 »
It doesn't matter at all. For the VERY FEW people who actually know your character's name and that you are going to go rogue in the giant flood of players just starting to play/playing without looking throughout the forum, they can do nothing. If they attack you under the pretext that you are a rogue, they'll either be arrested or they'll have to go rogue their self. So it's a pretty pointless question of whether or not you are going to do it, because if you are a member of Katakiuchi like we are, you are obviously a rogue. If you state you are a rogue, or you don't, it won't matter.

Why is it that every time I try and say something it comes off as very rude ;-; If it was interpreted that way, I apologize Mars-chan <3

Shinobi Life Online Clans / Re: The Himitsu Clan

I understand, I'm doing the same thing, despite being a member of the Yugure : P. I didn't really think about what I was saying before I posted it, because I was assuming you meant you'd be in the clan long-term. And then I realized, wait! I'm an idiot! But yeah, I don't think it's a very wise idea to go rogue on the first day x3.

Erm, if you are a part of Katakiuchi, that makes you a rogue ninja. So are you gonna hunt yourself? O_O

Shinobi Life Online Questions / Re: If a clan leader dies...
« on: December 05, 2014, 11:09:33 »
I think Kai might have tried to explain a little too much in too short of sentences, so I'll try and rephrase it.

This is actually a good question, and I agree with Kai. The clan members will probably be able to choose their next leader.

As for the next question, that is also a good one. I am not really sure myself, but I am assuming that if a clan leader decides to leave his clan and start a new one for a kekkei genkai, then they would choose a new one. However, what I think Kai was trying to say is that it won't be necessary. Your character is determined to get a kekkei genkai at character creation, and it is unlocked at Jonin level. Once you unlock it, you receive 3 special DNA codes you may use on someone else (with a 33% chance of success, if I remember correctly.) So, if a character was a leader of a clan and was a Chunin, then graduates to Jonin level and unlocks a kekkei genkai, they would be able to pass it down their current clan as opposed to just leaving them.

I hope I was able to answer your questions c:

It's a great character! Just wanted to let you know that the official villages of this game have been released already, so if you would like to peruse them, go ahead and click this link: http://www.shinobilifeonline.com/index.php?board=4.0

I would also recommend you to the Kirishima Clan under the Clans board, because they have Lightning/Fire as their main nature and are located in the Hidden Inferno, which is probably where you'll like to go. : P.

I feel like the concept artists are going to get to that once the villages are actually completed. However, maybe we, the community, can give them some bangin' ideas : P. I personally dont have an artistic bone in my body so I can't even pretend to make one up, but I'll be watching this thread for good ideas c:

Shinobi Life Online Suggestions / Re: Controller Compatibility
« on: December 02, 2014, 21:36:31 »
I read the entire thread, accepting and reading all the information. Heck, I am in the camp of the opposing side. I still dont agree. I dont really understand how that isn't accepting other viewpoints lel. There just are no valid points, that's all.

I dont think there's a way to write a five paragraph response without accepting other viewpoints xDD

Shinobi Life Online Suggestions / Re: Controller Compatibility
« on: November 30, 2014, 13:22:35 »
As someone using a controller, I can tell you that is false. My controls are a bit weird but they work well enough for me.

Left stick - WASD
Right stick - Mouse
Right Trigger - Shift
Left Trigger - Space
A Button - Right Click
B Button - Left Click
Y Button - F
X Button - E
D-Pad - Up: H, Right: O, Down: I.

Even with the six buttons, it wont matter. The jutsus have nothing to do with it. There will be many other controls, and most of the entire keyboard used. So, in addition to having limited jutsu, you will also have limited maneuverability. In the current SLO version, there are a lot of things that are difficult for me already. Lining up with enemies for jousts is extremely hard because the left stick isn't perfect. Running is STUPID hard because I have to hold the right trigger + move both analog sticks up. I know I don't have the most efficient controls, but they're still controls. People using keyboards, however, can move their mouse at different speeds, therefore allowing them to turn their camera however they want, while my stick is set to a constant sensitivity. They can also move much more fluidly. In reality, you aren't going to win against anyone with a controller in the final version.

I know you meant to suggest a way that a controller could be implemented, but it really can't. It is not "easily possible" to use a controller and win. You were not able to prove your point either. How many people are going to get that controller just for one game when they have a keyboard, anyway?

Sorry if this came off as rude, it had no intention to be. But there are no valid points whatsoever.

Also, you'll never beat Xen because he is baby jesus.

As said above, controllers will be ridiculous to use in the actual MMO version of the game. In the current version, I use a controller with Xpadder and it works fine, but I personally wouldn't recommend it. I only use it because I dont have enough space to move my mouse up. In the end, keyboard is going to be the best.

Very nice character! I loved the layout with the little symbols and such. However, instead of using someone else's photo you could always use the character creator specified in the template post. That way, you can tweak that character/make a completely new one to your liking. Just a friendly suggestion :)

If you'd rather use the picture, go ahead and stick with it :P

Shinobi Life Online Discussion / Re: What'll you do
« on: November 18, 2014, 22:23:27 »
Ill just devour the souls of mortals in name of the almighty lord Satan, and he will create material possessions such as money for me :D

But seriously, since SLO is going to be a very community-dependant economy, and game overall, there will definitely be multiple people in it for money, so they can buy like huge ass swords and show off and shit. Or be like, "Bruh I have 10000000000 gold you have 10 lmao noooooob", because that happens in practically every MMO ever. There will  be merchant NPCs and the like, but I feel that a lot of players are gonna set up stands/whatever people do in markets to get money. Then again, the action lovers such as Xen that are actually staying in their village will probably just do bounty missions, or missions in general. I doubt many people will be going rogue on the first day, so we have plenty of time to get money from missions and such to save up. I am definitely looking forward to the "cloaking" system, with the hiding your name and then putting stuff on to cover your face. I could, as a missing nin, walk into any village and buy things from NPCs/real people and leave, no questions asked. That'll be realllllyyy fun >:D

It's gonna be tough for rogues to get money, I'd think. Unless there is some sort of raiding system for us, welp. Life's hard out here for a pimp. NEVER MIIND I just thought there will probably some kind of looting in which you could take a dead player's money, but still. I won't be killing that often.

I kind of went off track there from the original question, but basically: No, I'm not setting up a second account for money. A: That's another 60$, and I think I'll pass on that. B: You have to put shit loads of time, effort, and multitasking while blankly staring at your screen, waiting for someone to buy something in to it, and one account of that is enough for me. I am a passive player, however, so I could potentially see myself doing that before I ditch them village hoes, as opposed to killing people/whatever you do on jobs for money.
