Shinobi Life Online Questions / Re: Combat AI
« on: May 17, 2015, 06:26:30 »
People around don't really think about the AI, since users will rule and have our own systems.
In such game is hard to believe that there will be AI running around in the forests or walking around the village[guards]
I don't even know what will AI be used for, I mean in a normal MMO, the NPC Kage would give you a pre-set mission that gives to every player in the world, he will tell you where and when to find the objective and when you arrive he'll spawn just for you to kill him[with a dumb AI].

But that's in every other MMO. In SLO howver, players will rule and give missions, i assume some random conflicts may arise initiated by random AI's or player around the village or outside the village.
This PvP Survival-like MMORPG will live due to player "living" in the game, a game that challenges player to fight against other strong players cannot fall into having simple AI's.

The AI needs to be as clever as any other real player [condition-sensitive] for it to living on SLO, which will have strong players running and killing around the forests, deserts,etc...

SLO is going to be a world, If Vreg wants to make players rule their own villages under their own systems, they need to create a new level of interactivity, unlike popular and almost every MMORPG out there.

Sorry I just saw the "Dev/Mod only response please" I just felt to throw this out. sorry :-X
Although I'm pretty sure this question has been answered once.

P.D. I just re-read some stuff and the Q&A says that there will not be evil rogue AI's, So, I think this post makes no sense at all... but we could get smart ass wild animals :P
And Village AI's will give out missions at random times, I assume these missions will go directly to the Kage's mission list and then give to ninjas, and again, I wonder what these "random missions" could be about if there won't be evil rouge AI's messing with the SLO world.

Shinobi Life Online Organizations / Re: Views of the orgs
« on: May 17, 2015, 05:58:25 »
Is this a post to promote orgs or what??

Katakiuchi and Nami no Kishi used to be the biggest orgs back then, I remember json and I were Nami no Kishi's most active members until we both had to leave the org due to Cap's inactivity then we went out our own paths. After the Katakiuchi's leaders went offline, Katakiuchi's popularity went down hill as most of their members were really inactive. Katakiuchi is currently trying to pave their way back to the top and will do so in a near future.

Kami Senshi and Rōguhantā were then born and begun to have many applicants and built their way to the top orgs really fast on SLO.  These organizations went uphill due to the popularity of their leaders *whispering* Seyi pretty much promoted his org on the chatbox like thousands of times... just saying *whispering*...

Although I don't share their same ideals, I believe Jyuunishin has so much potential and I think is going to have many applicants in the following months.

because we are doing this through deathmatch, my coputer as you can tell sucks fps so bad. 15. i have an unfar advantage to those who get 30 +

The Deathmatch will obviosuly be optimized, your fps will pump up.

@granit In your logic, then the inhuman speed would need to slightly increase by hundredths with special training, because remember that 70 km/h is going to be amazingly rare in the SLO world. I mean, it does makes sense, even athletes decrease their timing by milliseconds with years of training. I just think it might unbalance the game a little bit.

What i do support however is that you can run even faster by focusing your chakra on your feet/legs... but this is another whole idea

35
I like your idea, as you said, it actually makes sense that an expert in tai will be able to have inhuman speed after doing what you've said.
But you don't really want to train 2 whole weeks or 3 weeks (if you're not so active) and then have an inhuman speed only for 1 minute.

So i think if you actually train for 2 weeks in real time, after maxing out the "human" speed (which will more likely be 70km/h), you gain a skill, a skill which will have a pretty long cool down, that you decide when to use it. This skill does give you inhuman speed for a short time period.
However if you don't use the leg weights at least for 5 hours a week the skill is disable.

Shinobi Life Online Discussion / Re: Training Styles
« on: May 16, 2015, 14:40:19 »
I would also like that your muscles could increase in mass, but that's too much interactivity going on.
The Different training styles to increase different skills is a good idea. just as the "climbing a tree with your feet" training and stuff like that, that could increase your chakra or different set of skills as you continue so you can do things more easily.

Different training styles increases different skills, I like it, and I think it should be part of the game (probably to be done in academies or dojos though, doing it out in the streets would be even odder than the contests between Might Guy and Rock Lee).

And this is true, i think in dojos or academies should be some training dummies, or any other type of training facility.

Shinobi Life Online Clans / Yamato Clan
« on: May 10, 2015, 22:49:19 »
Yamato Clan

Our dear founder Kure-sama

Leader: Rayzote Yamato

Morigakure(Hidden Forest)
History:

Most of our past is mystery. Kure-sama, our founder, unified a group of nomads that traveled from island to island with ancient canoes on the entire world. Kure-sama thought that being nomad was easy using the Mokuton (Wood Release) that runs through his veins, Kure-sama created canoes, temporal shelters and many useful wooden furniture, but when the world started to separate into villages Kure-sama realized that being nomad turned into an obsolete way to live, the lack of food and training became notorious among our ancestors.

Kure-sama sought help from a group of nomad wise elders, who then became the 3-Council in our Ranking system, Kure-sama and the elders understood that affiliating and establishing on a village would solve their problems. Kure-sama decided to settle on a village lying on the coast, which then was named Morigakure. Establishing on a village created other trustworthy conflicts on the village, though years and generations solved [some of] them.

Many elders from our clan say that Kure-sama and other nomads learned Suiton (Water Release) techniques since they simplified their traveling through the seas, elders say that this explains the sea waves on the Yamato Clan symbol. However, some others think that these “sea waves” are instead the texture on the trees that Kure-sama used to build their home.  Other rumors say that our ancestors introduced Doton (Earth Release) techniques to Morigakure. No one really knows a lot of our past, much of it has been and will be a mystery, perhaps that’s what Kure-sama wanted.

Unique traits:
  • Everyone in Yamato Clan has the primary chakra nature of either Suiton or Doton.

Shinobi Life Online Discussion / Re: Different Animations
« on: May 09, 2015, 21:19:41 »
I see that you concern yourselves regarding individuality and uniqueness as much as I do. However, in a realistic setup, students are taught the same standard techniques, hence Newbies might have the same style. At high level modifications are to be expected. This way your fighting styles become  more distinct. Also, less hassle to the developers. LOL

This is not always true. Although students might be taught the same standards, from a more realistic perspective a ninja would take these standards and apply them in different ways combining them with their own style. Like in the FIFA game, everyone is taught to dribble, shot and pass, but they do it in their own way.

@dragon6624 no, I actually were talking about the fighting/moving style, at least  Straw meant that.

Yeah support the idea of buying them with real cash, but some default sets animations could be selectable at the character creation.

But I have another idea, maybe the game could have different animations for each action, and these animations are trigger randomly or maybe specifically in different conditions/situations every time you do them.
Example: Your are in the dessert and when you dodge an attack, the character slides[with some sand tossing into the air] to the direction you dodge and ends up leaned down and the knees bent on an attacking position.
However, when you're in the forest, your shoes will have better grip on the grass therefore a slide is not the best way to go. Perhaps a short jump to the direction you're dodging.
This idea doesn't really emphasizes uniqueness among player, but still think is pretty cool.

In anyway I like the idea of being able to chose the animations of the many different action that happen ingame.

That's why I propose the diplomatic relation as enemies between our organizations. Clearly, none of us want to begin SLO with war on our shoulders.  Later ingame we will decide what consequences our actions will bring.

Then as Yugure I propose a diplomatic relation as enemies between Kami Senshi and Katakiuchi.
But, war shall be declared if you or anyone from your org dare to attack a Yugure of Katakiuchi.
