If you're like me, and you're going to use more than one type of fighting primarily, don't vote here. This is for people focusing on one type of jutsu almost completely, like Rock Lee or Ten Ten.

Shinobi Life Online Suggestions / Learning Jutsu
« on: June 24, 2015, 10:01:12 »
Hi guys, just want to say that I first had this idea from reading Mars' thread on individual hand seals: http://www.shinobilifeonline.com/index.php/topic,1515.0.html

When reading, I thought about different ways which players could be forced into learning jutsu, that make them harder to learn. There are two stages to my idea. The first stage is that a player will have to learn the handseals for the desired jutsu, and the second is the learning curve before they can use the jutsu effectively.

A player should have to learn handseals for their jutsu, and these can be learned in a variety of different ways:

-A passive skill can be learnt relatively early in the game, that allows a player to learn identify one jutsu at a time. This will appear somewhere (which can be decided). However, the player will only be able to identify the last jutsu that they saw, meaning they'd have to watch one of their friends do it to learn the hand seals, and store the information quickly. This means early on that higher level jutsu cannot be learnt this way
-A player can go to a library and find the jutsu which they desire. However, some jutsus should only be kept in each library. So to learn a jutsu this way you'd have to go to other libraries, possibly in other lands, which may even be hostile to you
-There should be scrolls left around, which players can find. If the scroll holds the desired jutsu, the player is in luck
-There should be a doujutsu that can be passed down through clans, and is quite rare. This would have the element of the sharingan that would allow players to identify each jutsu which they see. The doujutsu could also do other things like identify the chakra natures which a player holds etc.

Then, I believe, there should be a transition stage to learning a jutsu. A jutsu shouldn't be easy to become good at. Look at Naruto learning rasenshuriken, or even learning the shadow clone jutsu-it takes a long time. I don't believe that the time should be crazy-long in SLO, but I believe it should be enough to make a player try and learn a jutsu for a decent amount of time. A player should have to try a jutsu over and over again before he/she is successful. If a player has learnt many jutsu along the skill tree beforehand, it should become easier to learn the jutsu, but the length can be decided by the developers. Once he/she has performed the jutsu successfully once, the jutsu can then become one of the jutsus on their skill tree, though it will be at a very low level. The player can then develop it by practicing.

Thank you for reading  ;)

Hi guys, sorry if this post has been made before, if it has please just drop a comment saying it's been discussed and I'll remove it as soon as I can.

This idea crossed my mind after seeing StrawHatSeyi's post on obtaining all 5 chakra natures, wherein, Vreg said somebody could steal the chakra natures from him by killing him, then performing a blood transfusion. This caused me to think, what if we could steal chakra nature affinities from anyone? Obviously this would have to have rules, preventing it from growing out of control, but these are the proposals which I have. Feel free to comment to add to my ideas, or say how they could be improved, or whether you don't like it at all.

Firstly, I'll be writing about how I believe the chakra nature theft should happen. The person who holds the desired chakra nature must first be captured or killed. If you capture them, and they have their chakra nature stripped, the person should lose their affinity to this nature. If the person has only one nature, then they should be stripped of this nature completely, and only be able to perform other jutsu until they either steal, or obtain another nature due to becoming a jounin. This should not be something to be taken lightly for the captured party. To perform the act, there must be a medical ninja present. The body, whether captured or dead, must be brought to the location where the chakra nature exchange will happen. This medical ninja must be highly skilled, and must train specifically for chakra nature transfusion, so this wouldn't be able to happen commonly. The transfusion should take a RELATIVELY long amount of time, for now, let's say 15 minutes, as we don't know whether 15 minutes will be a long amount of time in SLO yet or not. If the medical ninja is interrupted for any reason once the procedure is started, they must start the procedure again. Therefore, the required people are: the dead/captured shinobi, the medical ninja and the person receiving the chakra nature.

Now onto the rules:
-The extracted chakra nature should be the one that a player began with (their primary chakra nature)
-A person should still be limited to two chakra natures, unless they obtain the Hidden Hill's legacy, allowing them to have three
-The transfusion should only be possible in completely hardcore areas, though the captured person can be taken from anywhere
-The medical ninja MUST be very highly skilled to perform this technique
-You can steal chakra affinities, but you can also steal chakra MIXES. However, for a chakra mix to be stolen, the player must already have the two required chakra natures. The player can only steal either the one chakra nature or the chakra mix, not both. This would prevent people stealing chakra natures and mixes at the same time.
-This practice should be illegal, and would put somebody into the bingo book if discovered

Thank you for reading  :P. If you have any other suggestions, feel free to leave them below.

Shinobi Life Online Suggestions / Shinobi Life Hunger Games
« on: May 27, 2015, 17:07:54 »
Hi guys! I was just thinking about events that could happen for SLO, and the idea of the hunger games crossed my mind. This could be a one-time event, or an event every 6 months etc, that's not the important part. There should be 2 girls, and 2 boys from each village allowed to enter. Each village's leaders can come up with a way to select people to partake in this event. The rewards from this event should be cash-shop items, that you can only buy with real money, as only one, or possibly two (depending on what the moderators would decide) would win the event.

I think this event would be really fun and would add a great dynamic to the game. It could be agreed by village leaders to distract their people from hard economic times etc. This gladiator-type event would bring the community of the game together, and add some village rivalry to the game!

Tl;dr- Bring in the hunger games as a game event!

Shinobi Life Online Suggestions / Mission Requests
« on: April 07, 2015, 13:46:43 »
I saw this idea on this post: http://www.shinobilifeonline.com/index.php/topic,1308.0/topicseen.html and I thought it really needed its own suggestion post and I wanted to speak about how I think it should work if it's implemented.

I love the idea of mission requests. Say you wanted a certain sword. This sword was only attainable by killing a level 100 boss, the sword is level 30 and so are you, but you have no chance against the boss. However, you do have a lot of money. There's only one problem, you can't find the sword in any stores, but there's a solution. You could go to wherever the mission station is and enter how much you would pay for someone to retrieve sword for you. You could deposit the money at the station and if someone accepts it and completes it, they get the money you offered, and whenever you come back to the station you can retrieve the sword that you wanted. This would give rogue ninja (under disguise) a way of making money, along with normal villagers too. It could be used to find many items that you don't want to spend your time finding or have the inability to find. Obviously if there's a market type place then you could buy it there, but some items aren't always available. This would benefit both the buyer and the adventurer in great amounts.

Shinobi Life Online Suggestions / Chakra Jumping
« on: January 31, 2015, 11:09:40 »
After looking at Jutsu Online's sneak peek (it doesn't look too good), I really like the idea of chakra jumping that they have in the game. Though their game mechanics are very different, it can still be adapted to the style of jutsu in shinobi life online. The idea would be to cast a few hand seals and click on a surface which you want to jump to. Further surfaces would require more chakra, so if you cannot jump all the way there then you would be flung forward as far as your chakra allows you. There should be some kind of indicator to show how much chakra would be required to jump that far. I think this would be a great addition to the game if the villages and maps are as I imagine them to be. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

Shinobi Life Online Suggestions / Death on the Perma-Death Server
« on: January 31, 2015, 10:55:05 »
Currently, the idea for the perma-death server is that once your character dies, it dies forever and you would need to start a new character if you wish to carry on playing. This will add a very real sense of danger to the server. However, when in practice, I don't believe that people will at all enjoy completely losing their character. Therefore, my suggestion is that once you die on the perma-death server, your character is transferred to the normal server, and is never able to return. This will mean that you lose the enjoyment of playing hardcore, and if you wish to return to the hardcore server, you will be forced to create a new character. This would stop the anger of people completely losing their character, but at the same time it will give players an incentive to survive on hardcore.

Shinobi Life Online Discussion / Jumping height and Length
« on: January 27, 2015, 16:43:22 »
I've seen a lot about the speed of a shinobi in this forum, but not very much about the jumping mechanics. I personally think that you should have to increase the height which you can jump. This will meaning that jumping can give somebody an advantage or disadvantage in relation to their opponent. Each character should also have a maximum jumping length, which can also be increased. A maximum jumping length would increase or decrease your chance of getting away from or catching up to opponents.

I have spoken. Discuss as you wish.

Shinobi Life Online Suggestions / Legendary Ninja Swords
« on: August 19, 2014, 23:11:53 »
I think something that would be great to add to the game would be a certain (undecided) number of legendary swords hidden somewhere in the game. You would have to fight a strong NPC in order to attain one, but once you get one it would differentiate your character from all of the others in Shinobi Life Online. None of the swords should be over powered, but they should just add another dynamic into the game that would be another thing for players to go after.

Each of the swords should be strong at one thing, like one sword that is sort of like Zabuza's that is super big and super strong, but very slow. Then another sword that is super light and quick, but your attacks do not do very much damage... etc.

This would also make the players that have them a player worth killing. There should only be one of each sword in the entire game, each one bearing their own name. These names should not be changeable.

TL;DR There should be special swords in the game that are hard to find and don't give a crazy amount of stats.
