Title: Real Quick
Post by: mamoudou52404 on October 04, 2016, 03:53:34
Real Quick, I just wanted to give a suggestion, and yeah I know theres a category for that or somethign but, general is the most checked so anyways

Would it be hard? Or would it hurt to put in a CPU to help us train when noone is online? Like maybe only the person training can summon the CPU bot by saying "/bot" then pick which mode whether it be easy or hard i guess. It would help a lot of people who are first introduced to the game when theres nobody online.

Idk, just a suggestion (The bot would only attack the one who summoned him)

Would be a good idea, however coding the bot would be difficult

With my knowledge of programming I can tell you that it's simply not as easy as "real quick" entails. If it was implemented any time soon, it would probably only be able to sprint directly at you with a static speed and spam a jutsu until either it dies or you die, and at that point it's more of a Chidori Zombie Apocalypse than any kind of training.

AI is a good idea, but so is ending world hunger and racism.

I could be wrong here but I assume when the team starts working on Ai, it'll be much more meaningful than a practice dummy

This basically says it all. AI programming,  especially considered for ELO progressing purposes is very hard,  if not nigh-impossible as it would need to mimick player bases within several ELO ranges.

Though making "an" AI would be EZ but not very helpful for us to increase our skills.

Spoiler: show
If you know you posted it in the wrong section,  why did you do it anyway?  Most people just check the recent posts section,  not so much general discussion in particular (though most posts are posted there) (games section not taken into consideration)

A bot wouldn't be any challenge AT ALL, right now, when there's not any 'stats' of any kind.

Making AI that attack players, could just be a bot that's much stronger then you(stats-wise), and then you'd see if you're able to win over it.

At all? Really? Are you speaking of your coding experience?

I meant a challenge to someone playing the game, lel. Who said I were talking about coding

I see. I thought you were saying coding a bot wouldn't be a challenge at all. My mistake.

Actually, the Zombie with a chidori wouldn't be the worst idea. It'll get you to learn the basic controls and jutsu and evading attacks. For the current state of the game, it would be the best training buddy. idk, just an opinion, and since I have next to no coding experience, Idrk if this is plausible or not lol, but w/e.

I'm confused
Are you saying ending world hunger is a good idea and so is racism

Or are you saying ending bothe racism and hunger is a good idea???

But back to the topic what if we didn't put in an AI ninja but some basic AI animal mobs that attack you if you get to close... mabey active the mob feature like you do wether settings.

These mobs will basically be there to hunt you down witch if nothing else will help you learn to activate Jutsu on the run and learn movements better.

Agreed, but it'd still take up a decent amount of time to program, otherwise you'd still end up with the equivalent of a bunch of brainless, reckless zombies. In all honesty --and especially given the pre-pre-pre-alpha state of this game-- it'd be far better just to wait for someone else to pop on -- I can guarantee you won't find a better opponent outside of another human brain.

If you're looking for training, I'm pretty sure there are several players that are capable and active enough to help out with that... @Mars or @Reminance perhaps? I'm not entirely sure (Edit: --who else is available, but if memory serves correctly, it's at least 3-5 people...from what I know, anyway).

Yeah i wouldn't mind training new people.

Agreed, most people learn from others training them.

Old but perhaps still relevant to some Sūpākūru kunren gakkō (https://www.shinobilifeonline.com/index.php?topic=2111.0).
I'm not sure if that org is still active, but it may be worth a shot.

Or we recreate a new one as a community, knowing it won't die out.
