Hi everybody, and welcome to another round of Secret Assassin! Sorry to all that was in the last game I hosted, school pressure etc. But it won't happen this time! (Probably). @Mars @Reminance @Shivraj @Konohuro @json243 @Nova @Leebz etc. lez play!
Please apply below, and make sure to read the rules before applying. I will be a little more strict on the time frames for assassins and voting (maybe a day for each night/day), so only apply if you're sure you will be able to come on at least once each day! I won't start the game for a day or two, to give people enough time to sign up. Good luck!
HOW TO PLAY:
1. In order for the game to commence there must be at least 4 players.
2. Each player will be assigned a role (I will pm you); Either a Shinobi or an Assassin
3. There will be 1 assassin per 4 players
4. Every ‘night’, the Assassins (who will know each other’s identities) will agree to kill a Shinobi. They will tell me via pm who their victim is and I will inform the Shinobi of their fate in the thread.
5. Every ‘day’, all of the players will get to vote to kill someone off in to game, in hopes to target the assassin(s).
6. For every 2 Assassins, 1 Shinobi will be an ANBU member (meaning none if only 6 people play)
7. ANBU will be able to ask me the identity of a named player (Shinobi or Assassin) once per day (via pm). The ANBU will be on the Shinobi's side, trying to vote the Assassins out of the game.
RULES:
1. If at any point in the game, the Assassins outnumber or kill all of the Shinobi, they win. If all Assassins are killed, the Shinobi win.
2. Lying about your role is authorized. If you’re an assassin you’ll probably want to convince everyone you’re not, so they don’t kill you. Likewise, you can pretend to be an Assassin or ANBU if you'd like, but then you would become an instant target.
3. 'Day' voting will be done in the thread.
4. Use the thread, shoutbox, or inbox messages as your resources. Try to survive.
5. If you are an assassin and you are killed. Do not reveal the other assassins out of spite. If the assassins win, you still win too. This rule doesn't apply to the Shinobi.
6. Once you are dead, you may not help other players.
7. Roles will be randomly assigned using random.org. Don't ask for a role. ;D
8. If you do not vote in two day phases in a row, you will be killed off.
9. To vote or change your vote, you must clearly state it.

@Kings_Head Really sorry, but I have already sent out all of the PMs and the assassins and ANBU have already sent me PMs etc. - You can definitely join in next game, I hope to run these relatively regularly from now on!
A group of 14 Shinobi are sent on a search and rescue mission from the Hidden Thunder Village, to the Hidden Hill Village. The Hidden Thunder Kage has requested that these specific squads be sent for relief efforts. At least that’s the cover mission. Secretly each of you have been warned that there is at least one assassin among you, and you have been charged with finding and eliminating them. As you all enter the village you see it is destroyed beyond repair and all of the villagers have been evacuated. You all decide to set up camp in the village as night begins to fall. Everyone rests uneasily, fully aware of what may happen.
The following day the group awakens to a loud explosion. While walking to the well to get some water, a Shinobi hit a trip wire and set off a group of exploding tags. You all duck for cover as the sky rains small pieces of Konohuro’s body. The assassins are definitely here. As a group you all must decide who you think it is and eliminate them before night falls and they strike again.
Konohuro is dead. The assassins killed him. It is now the day phase, please vote on who you think the assassins are. I will give this day phase 24 hours to complete, from now. If you do not vote in two day phases in a row, you will be killed off.

Anyways, I have a theory that our assassins were involved in the previous round(s) and wanted to keep the trend of killing Kono first for whatever reason. Doesn't really narrow it down much but it's a start.

Don't act like you're not an old player, if you're going to vote first, make sure you have evidence that doesn't apply to you aswell.

That accusation was done 2 SA games earlier.
You shouldn't take everything for what it is, you're supposed to play mind games, trick people etc.
Newer players could've taken Konohuro out because a lot of people seem to think that he is smart.
They could've just tried to frame an old member.
Or, it indeed was an old member, but you can't know that for certain.
Needless to say, pointing fingers without any real reasoning could end up being your own downfall.

Seems like alot of people are quick to defend themselves here, but then again it's all about staying alive. I don't want to get too quick to point fingers because that might look mighty suspicious... The only reason I can think of them killing off Kono is like previously said, Old player old habits.

Okay, there seems to be some confusion. In the day cycle, everyone knows who is voting who. It breeds mistrust and pain to those who make a bad vote, and it makes you word things in a specific way (it's fun to watch :3). You vote in here, and I look at the messages. You do not send me a PM. The ANBU and Assassins PM me with their duties in the night cycle, but EVERYONE votes in here in the day cycle :)

You must have done your research, Zama.
Just a theory but as a newer member you could have looked to see what tactics older players used to win this game and followed that. That would then mean if you were the assassin you could kill Kono and blame it on the older players as "Only they would know to kill him".
Loose theory and I don't recommend anyone else follows it, but because of this I will vote Zama.

I'm sticking with my vote because, knowing Zama did his research on tactics used by players of old, Mars wants him eliminated? Mostly seeing as Mars would crack as soon as he was accused of being an assassin (sorry bro you know it's true), saying things such as "I'm not an assassin because... *insert terrible reason*" and as he has no defence, he clearly hasn't thought into what he would say if he was accused an assassin - something only a real assassin would do this early on, I'm convinced he is a shinobi (or the ambu :o)

ST has no proof that Mars is anbu though so I don't see why the assassins would believe him.

This early in the game the assassins are just guessing randomly killing Shinobi if they have even a suspicion of who the ambu might be there sure to kill that person because it's better then guessing and there's no down side to them to killing that person.

The following day the group awakens to see SirTroll's dead corpse pinned to a tree, his entire body pierced with kunais all the way up to his neck. The assassins are still here. What's more, a scroll was found on his body, with writing on it, written in some sort of secret code known only to him.
SirTroll was the ANBU, the only one in this game. Good freaking luck, you guys have gotta move fast.

No I doubt it's you whatasnipe you are new to the forum and would not have known that kono was a threat from the start. I don't want to say this because I fit this too but the only leed we Realy have is that at least one assassin is an older forum member. Sanji was right when he said it could be shivaj but I'm more inclined to believe that sanji is sence he pointed first.
It's just my thought but I'm going with sanji
Ps. Let this be a lesson to new shinobi to this game... Never bring up the ambu even if your him... He doesn't need are help we need his.

I can confidently stand by that, SirTroll defended Mars, voting for the person that accused him. As they are also good friends, it makes much sense that SirTroll would investigate him first. And besides it's Mars xD who would you investigate first xD

If you all remember I agreed with sirTrolls as well.. I have a sound line of reasoning to suspect sanji I'm not saying whatasnipe can't be an assassin only that we focuse on what we know for a fact that at least one older forum member IS a assassin. That excludes nearly 5 people from this round of voting and we need to get a assassin this turn. That's why I defended whatasnipe and that's why I went with sanji. Mars is not one I Bellevue sirtrolls investigated him. That leaves myself, Ken, sanji
Json243,shivraj, and manuster I'm coming to count because he has bin active enough and he is smart. These are the people we should focuse on this turn!!! But it almost to late now!!! If whatasnipe is not an assassin then we need to foucse on what we know because we have no ambu to help now!!!

I would Agree all could be new players....but that would meen they did a lot of research in to past games and I don't think the new players here would have done that. That Leeds me to think at least one is a old player.

CM is convincing us not to vote for Whatasnipe very desperately, yet if Whata really is an assassin that'll put CM on the spot.
If Whata isn't, however, an assassin. That would palce CM in the clear as what sort of assassin would defend a regular player?

As the sun sets, eleven of the twelve remaining shinobi hang back as a lone figure keeps on walking down the path. Looking over his shoulder, Whatasnipe turns to ask if the others are coming, however the words die in his throat. The other eleven shinobi have their weapons drawn and prepare to attack. Whatasnipe makes a valiant (yet futile) attempt to reason with his fellow shinobi, however to no avail. Whatasnipe is dead.
The eleven remaining shinobi check through his belongings, to check that there are no more explosives. However, the bag is empty, and the guilt of what the remaining shinobi have done rests heavy on their shoulders. Whatasnipe was not an assassin, and was in fact a shinobi.
Drasholav was going to fetch some water in the morning, when he tripped and fell into an extremely deep canyon, and laid there in agony for over an hour while the others tried to get to him. Once the group found him, they carried him back to the camp site and tried to stitch up his wounds. However, as he was recovering, he suddenly started seizing, and immediately died. (Why the hell do I let newbies into the Secret Assassin games? No offense Drasholav, but this happens every time.) FYI, Drasholav was also a Shinobi.
It is now the night phase. Assassins, PM me your next kill. ANBU, PM me to find out about a player - OH WAIT NO, YOU GUYS HAVE SCREWED THAT UP TOO.

9 players left and 1/3 of them will be assassins
We need better odds the 33% of Mars is out and you don't count me that leaves a 1-4 to a 3-4 chance if we focuse only on older players.

jcryer called me today and said "you guys are screwed" after telling me I had not voted and that whatasnipe was a shinobi.
Does this mean we haven't guessed any leads?
json voted for whatasnipe once with no reasoning, was that because he knew that he was a shinobi?
Shivraj hasn't given reasons to vote except to defend the older members such as himself from being accused as an assassin.
Sanji also raised suspicion as he made a pm messaging everyone as a "shinobi group" maybe trying to assure us he's a shinobi.
The latter seems like the strongest theory and therefore I vote Sanji.

However, if we scroll through we can see Shiv and json weren't active either.
In fact, json has only posted once. Which was voting for a shinobi to be killed off (coincidently).
He did not have reasoning and that has been his only activity on the thread.
This kind of helps me believe Mars' theory though I'll follow his lead with Sanji for now as that is also probable.

Following up on Mars' point, Sanji voted against Shivraj. Meaning that it is likely that if one of them is an assassin, the other is not.
I do not personally believe Sanji to be the assassin but I will trust Mars and vote for him nevertheless.

I don't like to post without any reason to do so, and so far, I haven't picked out any peculiar leads, thus, not having any reason to post filler content like blah blah blah that doesn't contribute anything to the general findings.

My way of looking out for any suspicious behaviour isn't leading me to anything, thus I guess I'll indulge in your ways of finding out people.
Also, I've never said that it cannot be an older member, just that it is stupid to use that as the only excuse for voting for anyone.
Now for your logic, I'm pretty sure an assassin would try to be more active on the thread, as to hide in plain sight, thus that makes Json look innocent, but then again it could be that he was nervous, didn't know how to word his statements so as to not make him look suspicious, rookie mistake? Or is he actually innocent? Who knows.
I do, however, agree with your reasoning about Sanji, that made me suspicious as well, I just didn't think much of it, perhaps because I wouldn't think of that as enough reason to think of someone as an assassin, everyone is trying to convince people they're the shinobi, so as to improve the chances of them winning.
That is the biggest lead we have so far though, so I guess we'll be better off following that.

Well I still like sanji but I don't agree with your logic that shivraj has to be if sanji is not. That conlustion is based on the fact that. Sanji picked a random person as his first guess... It doesn't make any sence. I'm not saying shivraj cant be the assassin but I think Json is a more likely older player if sanji is not a assassin. He voted whatasnip with out any explanation then suddenly stops being active!!! That's suspicious to me. But the day phase is up next so pic who you think. I'm going with sanji this round.

Deep at night, after the shocking events of the previous day, a cry was heard. It roused the shinobi, and they found Mars writhing in agony on the floor, bleeding out from multiple kunai wounds in his chest. He died soon after, as there was nothing the remaining shinobi could do to help, and could only relieve the pain and ease his passing.
It is now the day phase. Vote on who you wish to kill off.

Also, my two cents: Sanji might be an assassin and is trying to take down another shinobi with him, thus he is framing CM, ofcourse, that's a pretty stupid tactic, seeing as it brings him into the spotlight, but maybe he thought "Might as well take someone with me if I'm suspicious". And idk, can it be the other way around as well?
Although that does seem a bit far fetched, so I guess I'll wait on people's opinion on this before voting between cmsurfer and Sanji.

Personally I don't think sanji is the assassin now eather but I don't want to die and it's Tied right now 4-4 between me and him.
I think we are playing right in to the Assassin's hands and are completely off bass because of Trolls interference. The ambu is dead unfortunately, we the Shinobi will lose if both I and crono get killed. That will leave us with 7 players at the end of this turn 3 are assassins and they will kill one tonight.

I would just like to point out that this hole game I have told you step by step what the assassin will do... Now this is ether because I know what there going to do because I am an assassin or because it makes sence and I am not.
So her is my next guess I think there going to kill someone that voted for sanji and supported me this confirming in yor minds that I'm an assassin and you'll kill me for them. If this happens it's game over for us. I am convinced that at least one was supporting me but if there smart and they are-they will have a guy on both sides of the argument. Ok that's my last prediction for the night phase.

There's a medic, who basically at night chooses one person (I guess here he would have to pm the host the person), and if the assassins chose to murder that person then he ends up staying alive.
Another role is called a joker. This guy is neither with the shinobi nor the assassins, he's a team of his own. His goal is to make the shinobi believe that he is one of assassins, and trick them into choosing to kill him during the day. If the people choose to kill him, he wins the game. If he dies from the assassins at night though he loses.

Fair enough that you don't give explanations for who you vote for but I just thought that it was a bit weird to not vote for the clear assassin and rather voted for someone who, at this stage, has little to no evidence connecting them as an assassin.

Well, the face off between cm and Sanji in the last round convinced that one of them must be an assassin. With Sanji dead and innocent, I'm sure It's cm. Also why cm lie about being an assassin? It doesn't benefit himself or anyone else for that matter. He was able to defend himself in the last round by incriminating Sanji but now with all eyes on him maybe he just accepted defeat?
I don't know why cm would admit to being an assassin but I find it unlikely he would lie about it. That's how I see it.

I'm not lieing... There's just no point in denying it anymore. We the assassin have already won and everyone knows it... Despite the blatant cheeting of sirtrolls and the constant chatter of sanji... Me I might as well be died but have not bin killed yet so I can talk all I want. I can even tell you who the assassins are and it would not matter... The seven remaining shinobi, completely divided and isolating themselves in the temporary camp previously set up, had had enough. Five of them moved together to kill the one person they were positive was an assassin - cmsurfer. They slit his throat, and he went quickly and quietly - not the way any of them wanted to do it, but they had to make as little noise as possible. Even then, however, none of the five there could be sure that there wasn't an assassin within their ranks.
cmsurfer was an assassin.
It is now the night phase. Assassins - PM me your next kill.

Assassins took forever to choose who they were killing - sorry it took so long. Tbh I was about to just make it day and say the assassins just caught up on some sleep, but I got a message :3
In the night, the assassins covered Manuster's mouth, and smothered him. He couldn't breathe, and suffocated quickly and silently. The few shinobi left awoke to find him lying there, seeming peaceful.

It's not Crono, I'm confident about that. Its more likely Ken but Waly might still be a suspect.
It's likely I'll be killed during the night phase. If so, the remaiming shinobi should vote for Ken next round. If he is an Assassin the last thing we'd want is a tiebreaker with him. I'm not entirely sure it's him but I have my reasons and it's a risk worth taking.

I'm calling bs on this one.... No one suspected me at all untill ST butted in and convinced manuster that I was an assassin. If he had stayed out of it I could have played you guys for at least 2 more turns. Now I probably admitted too soon that I was but it was too close of a call with sanji to not and it was so much fun watching you guys squirm about wether Ken was a Assassan or not.. So I'm happy with the way I Played it.

ST confirmed on this thread that you should kill cmsurfer though, had he stayed dead like he was supposed to.
He wouldn't have confirmed your suspicion and thus you couldn't have known certain he was an assassin. (Innocent till proven otherwise.)
