People jump around in fights to avoid getting hit and it costs little chakra.
If you've already been hit once, a jump should take as much chakra as chidori because when people jump around in fights it's flat out boring and bullshit

It's some people's playstyle :P although I DO find this annoying as well, we can't ask to make their playstyles uncomfortable to use.

I agree that its very annoying.
Especially when fighting somebody.
But i dont think it should be nerfed.
If you are not a pussy then you dont jump and just fight.

Tbh, I can get salty easily when going against people who either just do afk-hits | Run all the way to narnia in a 1v1 and never attack | Spam jump to dodge or just because they're spastic and can't control their hand.
It's just part of an etiquette I guess, I play the game to improve while having fun and I'd rather play it fair and square by doing 1v1s. But that's probably just me.
Even though it's hard to nerf jump, I do feel like there should be a small change (not sure how yet.)
There's almost no risk to jumping, it barely takes chakra / you're fast as hell so hard to predict for them where you're going to land unless going in a straight line. the jump is instantly so it's almost impossible to get hit.
However, jumping is somewhat required for the game (or so I imagine).
So nerfing it too hard / removing it won't help :/
Sorry if I went off-topic.
Edit: I guess if the game could detect when you're in a fight, you can make the chakra cost of jumping more than it would be when you're just maneuvering over the map.
But that's just a retarded idea

You can dodge sideways though while standing still, no need to run/walk.
Also we were talking about people who spam jump to dodge, litterally jumping more than 3 times within 10 seconds.
But then like I said before It's just part of an etiquette I guess, I play the game to improve while having fun and I'd rather play it fair and square by doing 1v1s. But that's probably just me.

Why not make it so if you're below a certain health threshold jumping takes as much chakra as chidori.

Imo Vreg should make it so that the longer you hold on to the right click, the higher you jump and the more chakra it takes. So you'll have to watch how you jump

for every jump when you be in battle mode (if it will be something like that) it will take the helf of your chakra, so no one jumping when he be nearly to die
Definitely we want something like this to come down before the standalone vers

Future version of SLO will have height controllable jumping with dynamic chakra consumption, very similar to how you've described it.

Would it be possible to make jumping take chakra if you've cast a jutsu withing 2 minutes of the jump as nova suggested?

I would more likely dodge backward at an angle than straight sideways tho :o
