As you may know, variables such as jutsu damage, jutsu chakra consumption etc are always subject to change, in order to achieve what we think is the most balanced for an enjoyable game-play.
So after testing the current game build, please do not hesitate to leave your suggestion about what you think would work best, resulting in a balanced gameplay.

I think the main reason people complain about the chakra numbers being too low is that everything you do consumes chakra. So have you guys ever considered adding a stamina bar or so?

I don't think that's the main reason. As long as you run at 60 or lower, you don't consume chakra when running. Though Stamina is a good idea, I saw someone mention that in game too

Honestly have to agree with Mars on this one. Well I'd say chakra and stamina are two different things. Stamina is what you need to do things that require physical power. Chakra is what you need to do stuff beyond physical power : Aka Jutsu. Basically anything humans can do should take Stamina (ex : running, jumping, dodging) and supernatural things should take chakra (Jutsu and double jumping).

Power jumping, power dodging and running at very fast speeds require chakra because they are beyond the limits of what a human body can normally perform. They are not basic activities that can only rely on physical energy (or stamina). These require a mix of physical and spiritual energies also known as chakra. Basic taijutsu techniques for example will also not require chakra as they can be supported by the physical energy of the human body, more advanced hybrid taijutsu techniques will additionally consume chakra to push your body over the limit.
Right now, there is no stamina system in SLO, which is the reason why you can keep running at 50 km/h forever. Only when you surpass that threshold, is when you're pushing the limitations of the human body and that is when you need the help of spiritual energy AND physical energy (stamina) which combined is simply called chakra. The chakra system is already implemented, henceforth you can see the associated consumption with beyond human limit activities. Albeit the current values for chakra consumption are unbalanced and need to change as they will in 1.0.8.1.

More like chakra = physical (stamina) energy + spiritual energy. You could say stamina is chakra, because without stamina there can be no chakra, but chakra is not stamina as it's made up of both physical (stamina) energy and spiritual energy.

I suggest buffing the damage of all jutsus overall by a LOT. It takes 5 hits to kill someone with the chidori when speed is at 0. You're probably not gonna go full speed at someone because it is a chakra waster, you're probably gonna go under the speed limit that starts to take away chakra. So I would suggest raising the chidori base damage to 400 or 350, fire breath to 65 or 70. Also increasing the jumping and dodging chakra to 150.

It's supposed to be hard to kill someone. That way people can't be complaining about losing their characters so easily in perma-death zones, and it makes the game a lot more interesting.

I agree. Since everyone is of equal strength atm, it shouldn't be easy to kill. However, once the rpg elements are implemented, someone who is much stronger then someone else will probably have an easier time killing them.

im new here but i think that the stamina is a good ideia because of the taijutsu. and a cool ideia is if a person train more the stamina trait it gains mor phisical strenght and speed. this way if you want you can be a taijutsu only and not have chakra at all like lee

I suggest the other jutsus than the chidori should have more damage
because now people are only using chidori because its easy to use and deals
more damage than the other jutsus.

i.e. medical ninja, ambo black pos, defender ninja, camando ninja. modifers can inclued chakra reserves
chakra control, spiritual energy, physical energy, and intelagense. all of witch can be trianed and inproved over time leveling in game....

If all of your things mentioned were going to be added before patching to the next update, it would take a couple of years, because you're almost asking for the full game.
I don't see why we should be able to change values this early in the project, I would rather have that they focused on new unique jutsus to create a chance for more unique play-styles.
I'm all down for new suggestions, but pretty much all of your suggested things "Have already been planned."
To get a better grasp of what is going to be in the full-game I suggest you read the FaQ and or browse other suggestion threads :3

yeah i just saw this and thought i would chime in.... i found the villages and ideas planed for starting characters so i have a better idea now of the game plan.. i like what i see and am real eager to see how it develops but adding a bass stat for all new characters with emphasis on one of 3 characteristics i.e. physical, spiritual energies or intelligence would help to some one new the the concept but not new to mmorpgs figure out what role in a teem battle they would most likley play

and to clarify chakra is the by-product of a ninjas ability(control) to mix physical(stamina)energy with spiritual energy. this same control allows a ninja to use the chakra in different ways.
chakra dose not always exist in a person. only when physical energies and spiritual energies are mixed dose chakra exist. the amount of chakra a shinobi can use is based on 3 things
physical energies
spiritual energies
& there ability to control the mix

but the thing is that the rasengan is a jutsu of no nature. So right now it wont be a good decision since this types of jutsu are special types and that will make it confusing..

...I'd say it needs some sort of consequence; perhaps it's something you might want to use to replenish 'large' amounts of chakra drain, and as such you need to go into some sort of meditation stance -- leaving you vulnerable but giving you the benefit of faster chakra regen.

I'll be completely honest here. IMO the current numbers are a bit weird. Failry so for a gameplay perspective though. Most things are fine, except chidori and movement chakra... here is what I think should work out best:

Running chakra speed threshold (when we start consumption and build up to full consumption when reaching max speed): 60 km/h
Chidori damage: 400
Chidori chakra: 400
Chidori idling chakra consumption / second: 75
Chidori impact force magnitude: 20 Newtons applied over the course of 1 second
Chidori speed coefficient: 0.5 (how much your movement speed affects damage and impact force, 0.5 means chidori will deal 300 damage if you're running at full speed)
Bottom line, chidori is an A-Rank jutsu and should be modified WHEN MORE JUTSU'S WILL BE AVAILABLE. For right now as a test its fine, but movement drains chakra too fast....

that is true, but surely you should be able to run for longer than a minute with full chakra? And it takes not that many jumps to completely exhaust your chakra either

You do have a point. The chakra quantity of 1000 will most likely be assigned to newly starting players, Academy Students. As a player trains and develops (through use of chakra), this number will increase, to an assigned cap, say 120,000. (The cap, if any can be higher or lower.)
Players at this stage will be able to run for 2 hours without exhausting chakra.
^ Please bear in mind that nothing I've said is actually confirmed and is strung together by my memory and loose facts.
Vreg has confirmed that running speed will increase as the user runs.
I simply applied that to chakra quantities.

I had an idea to simplify this and keep the system in place we have now.
The problem is that Justu now are activated by a series of numbers with no meaning except for dog boar ext.
Currently I'm unsure of how these numbers are chosen. But in any case each number should corisponrd to a part of the Jutsu.
So all Jutsu can be broken down in to 3-5 parts
Focuse
Change in form
Change in nature ( if any)
Combined nature's (if any)
Power
&
Effects
Rasangon takes focuse power and change in form to its highest level.
That's 3 9's
However it has no nature or any real effects other then impact.
9+9+9=27
Now let's look at chidori a similar Jutsu using lighting nature
Power- 8 not as high as resangon
Focuse-6 again not as much as resangon needs
Change in nature-1
Form change 2- minamial compared to the extreme that rasangon takes it to.
Effect-2 power increased by speed-
Standing still
Chidori score-19
Moving max speed- 38
The hand signs should not only activate Jutsu but there sum because it's bassed on skills can work out the victor if they should collide. Then you can half the total if it collides with a opposing nature and give that half to the stronger nature.
Totals applied to the power of the stronger Nature's totals. This way if a Jutsu like rasangon is neutral only the totals matter.
I am aware that this means there can only be 5 Jutsu with the same score using the same numbers... However order is important
And coincidentally there are 5 nature's.
And I don't think will effect to much if we want 20 Jutsu for 4 major skill trees.

I think this would be a great addition and makes sense. +1
Also there is obviously adding a water style jutsu, maybe some kind of wave that pushes your enemy back while inflicting mild damage, but that might be for a bigger update
