I was thinking that after deathmatch, the clan with the best performance should get a Kekkei Genkai. This could mean the clan with the most wins or the clan with the highest average K:D ratio got a guaranteed Kekkei Genkai in the MMO.
Opinions please.
-
Will the ELO be implemented before the DM will end?

Yeah

Yeah
May the ELO decide the best clan.

I like this idea

Nice idea, i support this. Maybe the top 3 clans should get a kekkei genkai, the first getting to choose first. Also, this should be done for organizations as well, maybe they would get a free organization hideout, money, or items and etc.

Not always.
But I like this new one, keep up the good work, @Mars ;)

I support this would give deathmatch a cool goal to reach.
-
YES!!
-
Does it have to be clan, or could it be individual players too?

I like this idea better.
And yes straw, only clans get a KG. It would be dumb to work on a KG and only give it to one person.
-
you r gay but i might have accidentally clicked on yes! :P
good work Mars :D
-
I like this idea. Kirishima will definately be getting a Kekkai Genkai. XD

Dude this idea will help set up the stage for an actual story line to help the devs that's writing the story have a plot to start with kudos!

Okaaaaaaaaay. I was not expecting to be the only one on this side of the poll....
Alright prepare for the buzzkill everyone. All replies to this suggestion have been 100% positive so I'm here to ruin it for you all
Although this would add a sense of motivation and bring more fun to DM, one problem remains. It's that the game is still far away from being completely done.
I'm not an old player here, but I'm sure you oldies have seen that a lot changes in a year. A lot of people leave, a lot of people come. A lot of clans fall apart, and a lot are built in return. I can ensure you that not every clan that exists now will be there two or three years from now on the final release.
So, although its a good suggestion, I just think it's not the right time.. Like it's a little too early to determine such a crucial part of the game. People / clans sometimes are forced to break up.. So what if the winning clan is forced to go through such a thing.. I mean.. like I said, a lot happens in two years. You can't be 100% sure the same clans will stick around the whole time.
And honestly it is a little bit unfair for the future clans/members who decide to join later on. "Yeaaah, you missed your chance for getting a KG because you weren't here two years before the release"
I am definitely with this suggestion, and we could do it.. just.. not yet. Just my thoughts.
inb4 hate.

Last I remember KG will be random...If the player that gets a KG starts a clan, anyone that joins his/her is either 100% going to carry the same KG trait or they have a certain % of acquiring it (I forget which one)
This also makes more sense than giving a KG to the biggest/best performed clan of DM.
This was also the way Vreg said he'd make it if memory serves right.

It's an idea for the reason of passing down Kekkei Genkais through clans is a difficult premise, and this aims to make a simple and effective system. It doesn't have to be implemented, and at the end of the day it's not our decision. It's just an idea of how the system could potentially work. Isis does make a good point though.
-
I understand your points Isis and they're very good ones. Though don't you think there should be a reward for the clans and orgs who put themselves out there and want to be the best?
If a clan was working their ass off in deathmatch I think they should be rewarded with their efforts.
With an ELO system, you don't have to be playing for years to get to the top. In fact if you beat a couple of good players you could get to the top of the leaderboard easily.
ELO rewards skill, not activity. Those clans with skill should be rewarded imo

I don't think you have the right angle over the situation.
You said yourself that people are leaving and coming. This means a clan is hardly dyeing, especially one that is guaranteed to get a KG in the official release. For e.g. the clan Ookami I think... the one created by conteledemonte, is still running even if contele is not that active, Katakiuchi got almost all it's leaders replaced and is still on it's hills. Also, I think is very fair for those who joined first to get a reward. Any small community helps a lot a project in development stage and I know it from my experience.
A game without player is useless. And only a good community base can keep the newcomers here.
Yet, it's up to the Red-named guys to decide how much should the reward be. And just to make things clear: This doesn't mean that we are still active only because we expect a reward, the game itself is a very good gift for our patience.

:/...Coming from my own clan mate as well. See now this is what I meant by clans can fall apart. We're done Kono... we're done.

There definitely should be a reward for clans that want to be the best. But I don't think that that gift should be KG.
It wouldn't be realistic nor honestly fun if the gift for the strongest clan was to make that clan even stronger. That's not the way KGs are done in Naruto. It's completely random, and honestly just throwing the greatest weapon a clan can have to the strongest, biggest clan kind of breaks the balance and just.. makes the gap that was already there between that winning clan and other clans even bigger.
But you're still right though, clans that do their best should be rewarded. But like I said it's a little too early for that sort of huge gift. I mean if we all knew who will have a KG from now then.. that clan will probably have a shit ton of members joining while every other clan that lost and every other clan that will be made later on probably will just.. die out. Basicallly the way I see it is that giving out KG's too early is pretty much just like making whoever is big already bigger and making it harder for the smaller clans (which are the ones that actually need the help) to grow and attract more members.
I know this sounds like me pussying out or saying Kirishima's a small clan that won't win if this was to ever happen, but trust me that's not what I mean :), but it's just that I think realistically it's not a great idea... Because KG is purely random - and that is actually the beauty of it. That's what makes the concept so special in the first place. If you take the Naruto anime as an example, no one got such a gift just for being.. stronger than anyone else, it was just based on pure luck.
But then again, just my thoughts. And I would be more than happy to have a similar DM clan/org tournament, where the reward is something else.

In all fairness, he gives a very good point concerning the implications of giving a KG to the best clan in relation to other clans, so perhaps something else could be given? Maybe a legendary item of some sorts for the strong clan, or just 1 jutsu special to them?
-
Hmm, maybe a vanity item?

A KG doesn't make it's wielder more powerful, it just gives him a bigger variety of actions during the combat.
What is truly a problem is that after this is decided, all the newcomers will join that clan. And I don't see how this can be fixed.
The only thing that can be given to the winners would be cosmetics, unique clothes etc.
I don't see how a legendary weapon can be given to the entire clan. Is not like a trophy that you will keep in the glass case of your Clan's hall. Someone has to wield it, who will be?
-
How about you give the clan a special KG. This KG would only be given to those who contributed a certain amount of ELO in the clan,it wouldn't be able to be passed down and only those who joined the clan before a certain date would be given it. This should solve that clan problem, right?
-
While that's a good idea @Kai, in the future that isn't how KG is going to work. Vreg is most likely not going to code something in a way that will only be used once, only to recode it for everyone else later. Also, giving a KG only to certain players instantly triples the fears that Isis has, in a way - if it is too early to give a KG to a clan because it might fall apart, then what about its members? Even if the victorious clan (Himitsu) doesn't fall apart, it is guaranteed that a couple of members will drop out and a couple more fill their places. The KG could be lost, permanently.
I like the overall idea btw, I just agree it will unbalance the clan system even more than it already is. We need to think of an alternate thing, like a vanity item as Mars said.

It wouldn't work. Joseph mainly explained why.

100% agree with @Isis

Yes it could do lol, if the KG is a powerful jutsu like Haku's Demonic mirroring ice crystals, or a dojutsu like Rinnegan/Sharingan.
