It doesn't matter if you will desert or you will be a devoted shinobi to your village. Where will you start from?
-
Hidden snow.
I like the chakra natures and I'm certain it will be cool to live in snow.
-
Hidden hill.
I like the multiple chakra natures we have and I pretty much dont care for the kekke genkki.
-
Hidden Thunder for me.
-
Hidden Inferno all the way.
-
Hidden Inferno for me.
-
Hidden Metal for me....I just HOPE AND PRAY that the natures switch to earth/lightning....It makes sense and would be a badass chakra mix.
-
Forest, because I like to run.
-
Hidden inferno, I love fire, lightning, and underground places.
-
Thunder for me! Cause I like the Natures and kekkei Genkai, plus my eternal rival (@Leebz ) is going to be there too, so yeah.
-
There aren't as many people going for the Hidden Hill as I expected. I'm also surprised to see some hidden metal players
-
Hidden Hill 4 lyfe
-
Hidden Snow FTW!
-
I am the only one in Hidden Ash?
-
Hidden Haze will rule all, we will conquer everybody from the mist XD
But seriously, Hidden Haze will be the strongest, badass village ever :D
-
@bloberfish ayyyy, someone else who is going to be from Haze
-
Hidden Haze will rule all, we will conquer everybody from the mist XD
But seriously, Hidden Haze will be the strongest, badass village ever :D
How about uhmm... NO xD
Every village will have its own unique Hero's
Ya know naruto and all that crap.

He is still a hero in his village this doesnt have anything to do with the fact that he is a jinchuriki since he defeated pain with his sage mode.
Thus making him the village hero.
Soo not a bad example :)

He mastered sage mode only by using his multiple clone jutsu. He can use his multiple clone jutsu only because he poses a big amount of chakra due to 9-tails.

Hero? No.
Champion? Yes.
EDIT: Naruto was a champion, that guy from my pic is a hero. One thing is to use your powers for the good of the village and other thing is to sacrifice yourself and those dear to you for the good of the village. A hero is a champion but a champion is not a hero.
-
No one can become the true hero in an MMORPG, cause it's a lot like real life, you see a hero here?
-

True... But how will the game be real...? Like our reality or Naruto's reality? In fact there is no "reality". Is either you copy our universe either Naruto's universe.
-
Naruto is only the main guy, cause he is the protagonist of the series, who is the protagonist of the world? no one..... we all think we are the main character, it's our nature, but I don't think that there is any true, protagonist of this world.

Of course it won't be any protagonist. But still every village will have a champion, the best fighter, the one that is apparently unbeatable.
-
yup
and I guess that the champions will be the only thing keeping other villages from attacking XD

I'm in Himitsu and I'm going to Yukigakure.
You don't have to live in the same village your clan is based, living somewhere else just means you wont have as much family in your village.
-
ahhhhhhhhhhh.............. thx for clearing that up for me :P

Looks like Hidden Hill's gonna be the main powerhouse, with the most members and all... Good thing, since I'm one of them!
-

If it's the powerhouse, many villages will be attempting to take over them, or ally against them, then its numbers won't be as effective.
-
Even then, alot of missions/quests would be given to the largest village right?
-
I wouldn't underestimate the resources of the bigger villages...
-
Beo, wait 5 years then you can say that, if it is true at that time
-
Shiv, you just had to roast me.. Oh well, you bring up a good point.
-
I wouldn't underestimate the resources of the bigger villages...
I'm not underestimating them, I'm just saying that they shouldn't overestimate themselves. From what it looks like, the village I'll be joining (Hidden Inferno) will be one of the larger villages. We can't allow ourselves to become cocky and then get ganged up on by many villages. It's important to make peace unless you're 100% sure you've got the advantage.

No point in mentioning peace between villages. Rogues will conquer the world xD The ultimate peace.

Being the complete badass.
I mean alright being a village hero is cool and all, but... Those rogue ninjas that make all the trouble and have big groups of people out looking and hunting for them are the ones that raise your eyebrow.

One thing: no rules.
So you are a smart boy, you will deduce all the others tha come beside with that "one thing".
-
The only rules in villages will be sensible eg. Don't steal, don't kill, follow orders.
Would make it safer for you and you'd make sure you keep all your shit.

If village people are hunting down rogues all the time, then they'd have to live their lives in hiding and fear, with a lack of supplies. Whereas, village people are always protected and rarely have to live in fear.

@Konohuro you are wrong about the multi shadow clone jutsu. Naruto uses his own chakra for multi shadow clone jutsu, just check episode 1

Really man, it took you 3 pages of forum to write that answer?
Anyway I can change it: He beat Pain cause he could use the sage mode in the way he did taking advantage of his clone that was using sage mode too. Theoretically a body with normal chakra wouldn't resist a split and sage mode at the same time. "Long life nine-tails!"
I will take my point back, if you don't mind.

You know a ninja ain't fuckin around when he comes from a village hidden in the haze. Compare it to the Hidden Mist and I think you'll know what I mean.
Plus... Dat boil release..
-
lol nobody in shockwave??
-
lol nobody in shockwave??
Unfortunately it might end up being the lowest populated village :(
-
Hidden Haze obviously. Having water fights since 1990~ then we burn each other to dry up
-
I think hidden Shockwave should merge with Hidden Metal, Since the natures makes sense for each, like if you changed the shockwave natures and the metal natures they would both still make sense...plus it would shorten time by taking out a village no one will be a part of.

I don't think it will be removed but it'll be the last to be developed. Vreg plans on releasing a few villages with the MMO release and then developing more villages as the community grows in the thousands

It'd be better to wait it out and see how many people want to be part of the Hidden Shockwave. You never know, it might become as popular as some of the other villages. Our community is not nearly as big as it will be in the future.

i think the villages that wont be on at release at the mmo first day should have a invovling story in the mmo.

Seeing that ther eis no one in the Hidden Shockwave, I've decided to join it alongside my brothers where we will try to set up a structure, clans, and lore. Will we need to complete the kage test as well? Or can we make a unanimous decision? Either way is fine.
-

Good choice. Though there is no "fine either way". The kage election is closed for any new possible candidate and you can't proclaim yourself as the kage of the village only because the vilage has no members YET.
-
I understand, also, when I said "make a unanimous decision" that does not imply that I was going to "proclaim myself as the kage". In fact I do not want to be a kage :-\ Since there would only be 3 of us (i have 2 brothers) i thought it would make sense to have someone be kage until we DO get more people and can have a proper kage. I was simply asking how would we go about picking a kage since the election was already closed and if its not possible thats fine as well. Of course not having a kage now shouldnt affect anything yet since the game isnt rully released yet.
Thanks for your quick reply though ;D

There is no village that is guaranteed to have a kage after the election. There is a small possibility that no candidate will pass the tests as there is no tournament, is all about the score you gathered. So is not necessary to have a kage.
-
I just hope that hidden ash is one of the villages that are first made, because it will suck having to start off in another village that I did not want to start off in when the mmo is finally released.

True.
EDIT: In fact, Hidden Ash should be the first village that should appear. lol
-
As already stated, few villages will be created. To avoid inconvenience of having to wait for your village to be created to get your desired chakra natures, you should be able to choose your nature(s) when creating your character, in the early stages of the MMO of course.

He probably meant the villages he wanted to be there at the start of the game.
It'll most likely be based on popularity, which means the Hidden Hill and Thunder will definitely be there from what I've seen.
-
Most likely the Hidden Hill, Thunder, Forest, Snow, and Inferno will be introduced first in the MMO.

I'll be starting from the hidden by dust.

I have a couple of questions about this and I really do hope this is the appropriate place to ask them. If not, can someone please direct me where?
1. What are the differences between the villages besides the chakra natures?
Chakra natures are from the end all in 'canon', since modes/styles of fighting and specialization vary among the villages (i.e. Mist/Cloud's tendency to have people who use kenjutsu (sword fighting), kugutsu and tessenjutsu (puppets and fans) in Sunagakure, or how Amegakure was apparently reliant on poisons and genjutsu)
Adding to wanting more information on specialization/techniques common amongst the shinobi of specific villages, what are the political situations? These are different countries we're talking about, so each one would have a definite difference, sociopolitically. Are some villages poorer than others? Are some rife with tension?
I'm just asking this because it seems like a bad idea to base off a decision on where your character belongs soley on chakra natures and the names of villages. For all we know, the village of Inferno can specialize in genjutsu making the person merely think they're burning alive and not actually much to do with infernos unless we're talking about blaze release.
2. Maybe this is too nitpicky but I think other people will notice (and I'm sure someone besides me has) but some of the names you have for the villages are in Romaji? Are these mostly placeholder names until you guys have a writing team and someone who speaks Japanese that can re work the names to not be romaji-based? I'm speaking about words like Heizugakure or Inferunogakure, the latter would work just as well with Taikagakure, I believe.

I hadn't thought about that yet, but would love to get an answer for it as well.

Would be cool if certain villages are mainly used for a certain specialisation. Not that they can't use otherwise but still.

1. The villages don't have a clearly defined shape just yet. Thus nothing like political, military or economical development of a certain village are established now but later on, the writers will create some "default stats" of the villages leaving the players to continue them. As for the chakra nature limitation, even if I don't like it either, I am sure that this is a strategy to populate all villages relatively equally. Allowing players to join any village and having any type of chakra would only unbalance the game creating ghost villages, unwanted by everybody.
2. You can see here the Japanese names of the villages: http://www.shinobilifeonline.com/index.php/topic,732.0.html
I don't think it is possible to write an invented name in kanji. The villages can be written in hiragana/katakana, but honestly I don't see the point in doing this because no-one would understand it, beside this I don't think the names will be very often used in games. We have symbols for that. (or we will have)

Hidden shockwave is the place to be! And if it isn't in the game when it first launches, I'll probs go for Thunder.
-
I didn't decide yet.Snow is my favourite one beacuse I'd like to live there because I love snow, but I prefer fire, thunder elements (wind is interesting too) :'(

You can always start in a different village and migrate to your most preferred one.
Not sure if that satisfies you though.

1. Most of that DOES make sense, but think, do you really want villages to bound you in the way you CAN go, when it's supposed to be a realistic game, pretty sure people would like to have good stats in ninjutsu BUT want to have lightning and water as their chakra natures, but starting in Kinzokugakure (Hidden Metal) gives you better stats at kenjutsu and poor stats in ninjutsu? Or you want to be a puppeteer with lightning and water as your elements but starting in Kaminarigakure makes you the worst puppeteer and gives you good kenjutsu skills?
I'm not really okay with the team making a political and military situation template for each village and the villagers just have to roleplay to fit the template, the players should be the ones making the situations, like the Kage of, lets say, Kaminarigakure made some poor decision and lost half of it's troops in war, the situation wasn't because of the staff, rather because the Kage (who is a player)wasn't worthy of being Kage, and got there because of, let's say, bribing the people of the village with lots of good stuff.
The economical status should be made into equal for every village at the start, but then left to the players to better or worsen it.
2. I'm pretty sure that leaving them in Romaji is the best decision, seeing as this game is not JUST for the Japanese audience, rather for a global audience, and making the village names Kanji wouldn't really help attract players, unless you release different versions of the game to different regions, in which case the names in the English speaking part of the world will have to have either Romaji names (like Kaminarigakure) or English names (like The Village Hidden by Thunder).
Feel free to point out where I'm wrong in all this, would be glad to have my eyes opened.

Lol I'm here still waiting to see what the village symbols will look like

1. While I understand the lure of player's choice in shaping their villages, there's supposed to be lots of world-building done beforehand to help with immersion, I believe. It's not even totally about the economic situation, more that there's a kind of difference in doing things. Or maybe some villages won't have as much missions in one-rank as the other to begin with, though this could change with more players gaining the rank. Or, to bring specialization, some villages have more missions of a certain type, like Haze having more infiltration/assassination missions than Ash, and Thunder having more outright fights or bounties available. Not saying that only these missions would be available, but it's not about strict pigeon-holing, but more about ease and expanded opportunity in areas.
And while it's not a specific strict bound kind of thing, like the way you put it. More like it's what available. For example, someone born in Hidden Metal isn't automatically better at puppet-jutsu than someone from Dust. It could be that you're just more likely to buy and learn puppet-using techniques in Metal than Dust, or that they will be more advanced in one village for learning (and of course the ninja can learn all the techniques eventually but it'll take longer with person whose not in a village that specializes). And the puppets you can buy being of higher quality.
I just feel like that would be truer to canon and more interesting. Naruto had to go ask Asuma for help with his wind-training, remember, because he had an uncommon trait in his village. Thus someone from Konoha interested in fan-jutsu, specifically for ones where use them like Temari does (wind-infused), would have to look farther for ways to learn about it than someone simply born in suna who can probably just go to the library or buy a scroll from a merchant.
In mmorpg terms, think of this way certain races/factions are set up. While they share classes, there are race-specific variations and of course, specializations.
2. I should have actually been clearer, my bad. I meant more like in the sense of using clearly roman/english words when there are Japanese versions. Example 'Inferno', which is Inferuno when said in Japanese, instead something else that means the same thing (like conflagration), which would be 'Taika'. So you want a village hidden in massive flames that swallow everything up, which would work just as well as 'taikanogakure' as 'inferunogakure', just be less awkward? Idk, i know this is a massive nitpick however, feel free to call it bull.

1. I think that there will be two kinds of quests in each village, ones given by the NPC and the ones given by the Kage, so I guess it'd make sense to do what you're saying with the NPC quests. I do agree that they will have to make the situations a default in each village at the start, but perhaps I didn't convey myself to you as I was meaning to in my last message, what I meant was the team shouldn't make a permanent military, political and economical situation for each village, but they do have to start somewhere, so I guess the starting situations will be based on the lore of each village or something.
The way you put it now, makes sense, forgive me for not understanding it the first time, I was quite sleepy :P.
2. Well, the names are conveying a Japanese feel to the game while you can still understand it a bit (but I guess japanese names in English letters are already there, so doesn't make that much of a difference, like Kaminarigakure xD), and they are literal, inferno basically means hell, right? And Inferunogakure is underground, with volcanos I bet xD. Same with every other village, Kaminarigakure(Hidden Thunder) has a thunderstorm 24/7, and Kinzogakure(Hidden Metal) is hidden by mountains which have a lot of metal in them etc. Perhaps, it could work if we used the japanese version of hell? Then it'd be hidden hell :P Idk >.<. I don't think this is a nitpick xD, every suggestion helps :).

First idea is interesting but I'm not sure how many people would want it in game. Having to have a certain two chakra natures AND a certain fighting style when joining a village wouldn't give too much room for originality and choice.

I didn't decide yet.Snow is my favourite one beacuse I'd like to live there because I love snow, but I prefer fire, thunder elements (wind is interesting too) :'(
You can always start in a different village and migrate to your most preferred one.
Not sure if that satisfies you though.
I love chakra nature of Inferno, but I'd like to live in Snow,if I could start from Inferno, learn fire and thunder and then I would migrate to Snow that will be great, but it won't have sense, because in this way the relation between chakra nature and village will be useless. If they want,it will be create 5 or 6 villages when players can decide 2 chakra natures to learn among 3 types for example.Oh,how admins will treat ocular abilities?(I would choose sharingan).I think that people that don't choose any ocular abilities could learn other special abilities

Just giving you an heads up, There will be no Sharingan in this game.
Nothing from the original naruto series will be in the game, so no sharingan/byakugan/rinnegan no rasengan etc.
The game will be inspired by naruto but won't have anything from the original series.
As for the other stuff you said, I'm not quite sure how it will work all I know is that you can start in one village and then migrate.
You will most likely get the natures from the village you started out in, but who knows.
